There is but one cure for this problem I am afraid and that is install compatible drivers for Ubuntu and your sound card ,windows and Ubuntu are two diffrent languages completely ..
Most manufacturers realise that Linux/ubuntu is popular medie now and do have downloadable drivers on their site , however if you cant find rthem dont despair there are many quick savy programers who use ubuntu and they write their own programs to solve such problems . many of these you will find on the linux site or click on add on's in your menu to go to the ubuntu site for recent updates and downloads the cure to the problem is and only is compatible program drivers .. or a new card with same available ... 1st Download Driver from this site Ensoniq Sound Driver
Installation of Sound Card.

• Go to the control panel
• Click on the System Icon
• Click on the Hardware Tab
• Click on the Device Manager then
• Select the Multimedia Controller or Audio Control the yellow Question Marks sign on it.
• Right click on Multimedia Controller and uninstall it.
• After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
• Driver installation Wizard start.
• Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
• Driver will be install.

go to this website and take your driver. but i dont know in witch system is runing so prove it.
