I have a router ASUS wl-520GC working fine since about 2 years.
I connect a laptop toshiba running vista without any issue since a long time.
I just reinstall vista after formatting my laptop. DHCP is enabled on therouter and network cards of my laptop are configured to obtain automatically an IP address.
When I try a wired connection, it's working and I get an IP 192.168.1.2.
But if i try a wireless connection, I see by typing ipconfig in a dos prompt something like:
autoconfiguration IP 169.254.X.X
So I don't retrieve an IP address from the DHCP server.
Does somebody can help me ? What's wrong ? Your help should be appreciate.
Best regards
JMC

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router
With this particular router you will need to treat the port range field as the port field. You will just have to forward single ports at a time. Which will be fine. In case you need more reference see the link below.
The default IP address is 192.168.1.1 The manual is here: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=WL-520gC Have you used the setup CD?
