My screen show whites as a creamy just off wite color. My wife says its just in my head cause I want a new TV. Its not as clear as it used to be though and I wanted to get a Blueray dvd player, but if i got to watch it on this creamy tinted screen id rather hold off.

I took the back off and noticed a few screws that seemd they were meant to adjust the color from the inside. Is this true or are they for something else?

Cleaning the CRT lenses and mirror will help, however with that model I would suspect that the gree and blue CRT needs the coolanr changed to get a your color and clarity back. thats a common problem with all phillips rear projection TVs

Color is a problem. Screen picture has greenish

well it seems you have an issue with one of your video boards, it could be that the Analog Video Board (the one with the inputs and outputs) is partially damaged, but it can also be your Digital Video Board, which is the one that projects the image

Tint on television stays a greenish color.

Tubes are probably dirty. Very expensive fix. Unless it has a warranty or is recently new, look for a local cheap one or one with a smashed screen of the same size. Easy to change the screens out and is very cost effective.

Yeah, I had mine checked for the same thing. The "blue" - There's only three - red yellow blue- portion of your tube died. Not repairable. Last I checked it costs at least $1,000 for a new 40 inch tube. Good luck. Mine went to the garbage dump!

Greenish yellowish tint on the tv

I have been advised that the color/light engine of the TV fails often and will typically create a green tint on this unit. I have one on order to get a replacement installed. BTW, it is not "user serviceable" and (for me) will require moving the TV to the repair shop for the change-out.

First of all component inputs are analog as the only digital inputs are the DVI or HDMI inputs on a TV. You might have color adjutments in the menus somewhere that allow you to compensate for color weakness on one or more colors. If not you most likely have a bad digital board.
