Sansa E260 Transfer Music with Yahoo Music Ulimited

Up until 2 weeks ago, i was able to transfer music to my e260 using yahoo music unlimited. I updated my Sansa Firmware to the latest version. Now if I try to transfer in MTP mode, it says "0x80042012" or "0xc00d2772"
You may be able to resolve it by relicensing the track(s):
Go to My Music, sort tracks based on the Status column.
Select all tracks with an error (exclamation mark). Right-click and select Reacquire License.

I have reacquired licenses up the wazoo. I also formatted the sansa device with Windows Media Player, reset factory defaults. I can transfer CDs I own using WMP but not music that is from Yahoo. If I try to use Yahoo Music Unlimited Player to format the device, it gets an "unknown error" and cannot format it.

My wife has a c240, I plug it in and it transfers/syncs with no issue. The only other thing I can think of is I plugged in a 2gb MicroSD card to my player in the last month and I plugged my e260 into a Altec Lansing MP3 speaker system to play music on it.

Do you have any suggestions, or how to get more specific help from San Disk?

I figured out a solution that works! I was formatting my Sansa e260 in MSC mode, but not in MTP mode. I had to do it in both for it to fully clear and start working.

Formatting the SanDisk Sansa e200 and m200 Series

SanDisk tech support recommends formatting the m200 series in both MSC and MTP modes to completely clear out all work areas,"fragments" and residual data. The m200 has a very basic Operating System that doesn't have a defrag option. According to tech support, the m200 needs formmating occasionally to keep it working smoothly. I learned that formatting will clear up intermittent hang-ups.

If you have music files on your m200 and want to back them up to your PC, see the index item Copying Songs from the SanDisk Sansa m200 Series to your PC.

    Format in MSC Mode

    1. With the m200 not connected to the PC, power it on, press the menu key. Select "Settings", then USB, then MSC.
    2. Connect the m200 to the PC via the USB cable.
    3. Right click on the "Start" button.
    4. Left click on "Explore"
    5. Find the m200. It will show as a hard drive, for example: "SANSA M250(E"
    6. Right click on the m200 device and select "Format"
    7. After formatting is complete, click on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the System Tray and stop the device.
    8. Disconnect the m200 from the PC.

    Format in MTP Mode

    1. With the m200 not connected to the PC, power it on, press the menu key. Select "Settings", then USB, then Auto Detect.
    2. Connect the m200 to the PC via the USB cable.
    3. Right click on the "Start" button.
    4. Left click on "Explore"
    5. Find the m200. This time it will not show as a hard drive but as a music device, for example: "SanDisk Sansa m250" Note there is no drive letter in MTP mode.
    6. Right click on the m200 device and select "Format"
    7. After formatting is complete, disconnect the m200 from the PC. There is no icon to stop the device.

Your m200 device is now formatted and ready to reload.

  1. 1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  2. 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  3. 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  4. 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  5. 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  6. 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
Thanks

My computer wont recognize my USB

Hi,

Try the following steps:

Resetting the device:
1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power/Menu button.
3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.

NOTE: Resetting will turn the player off while it is frozen.

If that doesn't work, then you may download and install the Sansa Firmware Updater and update to the latest firmware.

Sansa e260

You need to synch them to Rhapsody or whatever music service you pulled the songs from. also, make sure your music service subscription supports transfer to portable devices instead of simple transfer to a computer.
