Question about Computers & Internet
I am trying to install new os windows xp pro but itpowers off before i could complete windows installation . battery shows green and full charged. do you think i need new battery or does it have something to do with cpu and heatsink?
I have the same laptop, and you do need to clean out the heatsink. In the back of the heatsink, it will be completely clogged with dust and debris. You will need a phillips head screwdriver, a T6 Torx screwdriver, a can of compressed air, and some processor coolant (I call mine "goop") The two T6 (starbolt) screws are the ones you'll see on the bottom of the case, and there are 8 TINY philips screws holding the brackets that hold the heatsink in place. It helps to have a magnetic screw driver (normally a no-no) because you'll drop more than your fair share of those screws. Once it's cleaned up and a fresh coat of goop is put on, it'll run like new. No more random shutdowns due to overheat.

I strongly recommend u to continue installation with Power Cord only( AC power supply ) not with Battery.
