the whirlpool dishwasher is similar to our kitchenaid but we never had to remove a bolt to remove the

4-way hydro sweep wash arm - it always lifted right out. what bolt are you referring to? there are no bolts to remove on the sweep wash arm - it is not exactly like the whirlpool model - there are no names of parts on the diagram. we have the use and care guide for our kitchenaid KUDB220T - there is no 0 on the end of it. it says the sweep arm just lifts out - which we have done in the past - but now it seems stuck and won't come out - all parts the coarse strainer, the sweep wash arm and the

removable filter came off with out using any tools as per the manual - the sweep wash arm is stuck!

    please help. thank you.

I would suggest you look at diagrams 4 and 5 in the attached assembly drawings. You will have to remove bolt holding the 4 way spray arm but hold the base of the circulating pump at the same time. The metal ring would be one of the washers in the pump assembly.

Hope this helps.

The kitchenaid and whirlpool should be same model.

If the wash arm look like this then it is stuck in the filter assembly which I presume will look like this.

Maybe there is a different way to sort this out. Have you used the Finish dishwasher cleaning kit before? I would suggest you run the dishwasher in hot cycle using the Finish dishwasher cleaning kit from the supermarket. FOllow instructions on the bottle. This should loosen up the filter and help you take the wash arm out.

Dishwasher will not drain. Can hear it making a sound but water will not empty. Tried some liquid plumer but that does not seem to be working. When we try to drain there is a funny sound.

Hi
This draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

The washer fills and runs through the cycle but leaves a grit on the dishes

Hi,

If detergent is left in the compartment:

? Be careful not to load items so close to the dispenser
that the cover will not open to release the detergent.
? The dispenser is not supposed to open when you
use the Rinse program.
? Your dishwasher detergent should be fresh and
stored tightly closed in a cool, dry place. Old or caked
detergent should be thrown away because it will not
dissolve properly and will leave a gritty residue on
the dishware.
? Wait until you are ready to start the dishwasher to
add the detergent.
? If you are using the Delay program, make sure the
dispenser is dry before adding the detergent.
? The detergent compartment only opens in the main
wash programs, not the Rinse program.

YOU MAY NEED TO CLEAN THE FILTERS MORE OFTEN
IF YOUR AREA HAS HARD WATER
This can cause low water pressure.
In hard water areas, it may be necessary to clean chemical buildup from the filters every 12 to 18 months. To do this, remove the coarse filter by squeezing the
tabs and lifting it out. Next, unscrew the fine filter and lift it and the main filter out. Wash all three filters gently in hot, soapy water and rinse them thoroughly.

Your spray arms may be clogging causing low pressure too.
Spray-arm jets and bearings may sometimes become clogged with hard water chemicals. To remove the spray arms, screw off the nut and take off the washer on top of the spray arm and lift off the arm. Wash the spray arms in warm, soapy water. Use a soft brush to clean the jets. Rinse thoroughly and replace.

Try cleaning the drain pump so it gives you more water pressure. On occasion something may get through the filters and into the drain pump. The drain pumps on ASKO dishwashers are designed to automatically reverse if anything should get caught in the propellers, thus ejecting the item back into the sump area or down the
drain. Should you need to remove an obstacle from the drain, first turn the power off then remove the filters . Next, lift out the small black insert
from the sump area. (You might want to remove any standing water first.) You can then look into the sump area for the item causing the obstruction. Should you
find something, simply scoop it out. Be sure to replace the black insert before you put the filters back in.

You could also try to clean the dishwasher with ' Dishwasher Magic '. This would work like charm :-

Hope i helped you.

Dishes don't get clean!

The problem is probably that the chopper/cutter filter is pluged. It needs to be cleaned
1. Remove bottom basket. Remove top basket (Pop off 'keepers' at the ends of the slidding shelf supports.
2. Remove bottom washing arm. Unscrew (Gently but firmly) the centre post. Lift arm assembly out.
3. Remove overhead conduit. One screw at back and one at the top (Philips #2 bit). Rotate the whole assembly 45 deg to right (Clockwise) and lift off of the centre post. It can then be taken apart and cleaned.
4, Remove centre post (pull straight up). Remove 4 screws (Star T-20 bit). Lift whole assembly out. Pop off the screen (Flat blade screwdriver around the edge) and clean.
5. Remove cap over cutter/chopper. There is a single screw at front left (Under assembly remover in 4. Remove screw (Star T-15 bit) and cap (Needs some wiggling to free it up). Remove cutter & filter. It is on a spring loaded pin. Pull the cutter blade foreward and lift the filter disc straight up. Clean thoroughly. I then ran a 'quick rinse' cycle with everything out.
Reassemble.

Top spray nozel not moving water on my kenmore dishwasher

pump is more than likely clogged

in the dishwasher you will see you lower spray arm. take it off. now going up the back is the supply tube. you need to pop it off of thed top then the back and turn it clockwise to get it off the motor. after you do that you will see 4 torx screws. take all 4 out and you will be able to remove the fine filter. thats the normally grey piece with all the slots. after you remove the filter you will see two more torx screws. remove them they are for 2 seperate pieces one is the foreigh food seperator and the other is the chopper cover. remove both of them and clean the whole thing out. as yiou are puytting it back together. let me know if you get stuck

The top wash arm does not move on my Kenmore Dishwasher model #66515894100. How can I fix this??

Not familiar with this specific model, but I had a similar problem where the water jet slots in the dishwasher's top spray arm were blocked by food debris. The filters were nylon and had started to disintegrate, and when water was recirculated debris was pumped round & blocked the jets. Suggest check your filters are ok/seating properly & then check the jets are not clogged. My spray arm came off easily to enable me to clean it out.
