Hi,

Usually it would be a clean of the brew head, possibly the replacement of the head seal and then run the machine through the descaling cycle using good quality solution.

Some machines have extra seals, orings etc that can be replaced by the user.

Have a look at this link: http://www.saeco-usa.com/en/Support-maintenance/Support-maintenance.html

Hope that helps, please rate my help if it does. Thanks

Do I need to take my scrubber dryer for maintenance?

To help keep your scrubber dryer performing at its best, and to ensure efficiency and safety, you should take it to be serviced at least once per year. There are companies that specialise in the repair and maintenance of cleaning equipment that can help you with keep your scrubber dryer in tip top shape.

In addition to the annual servicing, you should regularly clean the filters, empty the recovery tank after each use, and ensure that you charge the machine if it is battery operated. There will usually be a manual provided along with the machine that explains the maintenance required in more detail.

How do whe calculate deprection on the asset being sold

Every asset has a "useful life". Homes likely will be depreciated over 31 years, machinery usually is 7 to 10 years. Divide the purchase price by the useful life to get an annual depreciation rate. Then subtract the annual amount of depreciation from the purchase price for each year in service.

The timing is out on my Elna Lotus SP sewing machine. Can you please help me fix it or should I contact a repair shop?

Take it in for the technician to retime, these are a lovely compact machine although now over 30 years old. But beautifully made and engineered, with all metal parts inside so it should be serviced internally, cleaned and lubed on a regular basis. I'd suggest an annual service is beneficial to all mechanical machines to keep them running in tip top condition.

5 year old Whirlpool Gold washing machine wont spin or drain. I hear the motor hum, but wont engage. Number is GST9630PW1

Easy solution: NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT. It's only 5 years old. You spent good money. In reality, this machine is doing exactly what WHIRLPOOL Corp. programmed it to do: FAIL.
NOW, you call the service guy. They tell you it will cost about $500 to $600...which is really not a good solution. Because in 5 years, this stuff happens. The best solution is to BUY A NEW WASHER. Mission accomplished! Sell product. FIX -ha! That's how things were when our grandparents purchased appliances. Parts could be replaced. That's no longer the deal.

The boiler is 26 years old now and sometimes it does'nt fire up. Sometimes it will firer up and then go off at anytime and may not come back on for an hour or sometimes all day. The heating is an Honywell....

There are many problems that could cause what you are describing.

I would recommend calling a qualified heating professional to service your boiler.

After this problem is fixed, an annual clean and tune will help reduce the possibility of future problems. Every other year is the minimum I would recommend.

I'd like information on the reliability of Rinnai 1004FA furnaces. Do they need regular cleanings?

Beside the filters in the back, no they don't require much. After 8 years of installing and servicing these units, I haven't found a unit yet that was running faulty due to lack of service. Would recommend a cleaning of the burners about every 3-5 years. Rinnai recommends cleaning the unit with compressed air through the front grate annually...but that doesn't require disassembly

Hello my dryer is only 3 years old. Last night it stopped drying. The drum will turn and the light comes on. It is an electric dryer. What might be the problem. Thanks.

Have you tried a different cycle? The thermostat that controls heat has failed. There are more than one for the different heat settings. Try a different setting, then go from there.

La Cimbali Owners Manual Wanted

Operators manual only describes how to install and set up. The Technician's manual is translated from Italian and is purposely vague. (Cimbali wants you to go to tech school). Suggest you ask for a annual preventive maintenance from your local service Cimbali dealer. You may need an overhaul/de-scaling which will be very expensive (+$1,000) in labor and parts. (mostly labor as it takes us about 40-50 hours per machine.) Hopefully you just need to change the worn parts in both groups and a vacuum valve. Good luck!

PROJECTION TV'S & DLP TV'S

No, your DLP does not need the annual cleaning as your old projection tv did. The rear projection used high voltage, 35kv, which attracted dust and smog. I would recommend to have your DLP cleaned when your LAMP goes out. Your lamp should last 2-3 years, then I would call a factory authorized service dealer to replace your DLP's lamp and have them do the cleaning at that time. I do it everyday as a in-home service tech.I hope this help.

All machines need lubricating periodically.

The trick is to be vary sparing. All moving parts require treatment according to usage, probably annually is plenty.

Depending on how you feel about the removal of the covers, access is required to do a thorough job.

If it has never been serviced and is more than 5 years old, I would suggest having a tech do the job and give it a good clean out and tune up, it will increase the life, and feel like a thoroughbred again.

Merely asking this question suggests that there may be an underlying reason ......maybe some minor misbehaviour ??

Do NOT be tempted to just "oil it" to attempt to remedy any new issue, there will be a reason and there is nothing worse for we techies to see a machine drowned in oil be some well meaning owner.......may cost more to clean it all out even before the real work can commence !!

So is there any other thing going on to have you feeling like oiling will solve it ?
