SOURCE: Access IBM button not working

you need to download the driver available at the website for this software.

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-55125.html go to this link.

the driver is available there.

The first application file is 1with41us.exe .....this is the file that you have to download.
The second 1with41us.txt(just below the first one ) is a guideline.

you can follow those to get your Access IBM button work.

I hope it helps...if any query contact me at vishalyuvraj@yahoo.com

Bye...

My IBM T40 boots to a black screen with the "z"(light at top to right of power.

Try these steps:

1. Remove battery and unplug AC adapter
2. Press power on button for 30 seconds or so (one min is also too)
3. Attach battery and plug into wall
4. Power "ON" as normal

If you are still getting the "Z" and a black screen then I would have the video card or hard drive looked at and replaced. Start with the video card and then look at the hard drive

I recently replace the fan in my IBM Thinkpad R52. Ever since, when using the power cord it suddenly shuts down after booting for about 10 seconds. But if I use the battery it boots fine.

I would open the case back up to make sure nothing else got moved around when you installed the new fan. If it was close to where power plugs into the laptop, you might have knocked something loose that could be either stopping the fan and causing heat to shut you down, or causing a short when the fan varies its speed.

Nothing happens when I open the think pad

i believed there is a switch for power on and off on the side of the laptop with symbol (I/0)..make sure your laptop is plug in to your power source with the power brick(maybe there's no more juice in the battery)

MY IBM Thinkpad R52 laptop is not entering in BIOS setup

OK< this is main fix I start with when working with a Thinkpad...Unplug from the AC adapter...remove the battery, and the cmos battery. That is the one about the size of a quarter. Leave them out for about 20 minutes. re assemble and try again...hope this helps...

Try removing the battery and starting up just on power supply. May be a bad battery. If that doesn't work let me know.

Shift key not working - deactivated

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Accessibility Options. The default panel that comes up will in fact be for the keyboard options. There you can turn off whatever happened to have been turned on. While you're there for each of the three options, press Settings, and uncheck Use Shortcut. Now Windows will no longer misinterpret your random keystrokes.
