Question about CD Players

Jwin 10 disc CD player

My system is less than 6 months old and the CD player has already quit working. When I try to play CD's, the window keeps flashing "Reading". I contacted Jwin and they told me that the parts are still under warranty, but I have to pay for the labor and also the shipping charges. I can't use a CD cleaning disc because it won't play. Tried the "blowing out" stuff but it didn't help. Can you offer any other suggestions?
Thanks,

Ny system is still under warranty to cover parts, but not labor. Any idea what this part and the labor to install it costs? This is the second exact system I've gotten from them. First one wouldn't work at all, so I paid to ship it back and received a new one, I really can't afford to keep doing this. Never had any problems before with their products.

Do you know of a place local to Guntersville, AL where I could carry it to be repaired and maybe come out cheaper?

    Thanks,

    Becky Garrett

May be a defective laser. Have have fixed to many of these by cleaning the laser eye. You will have to disassemble it to get to the eye. Soft cloth with no water or chemicals, just wipe it off. Very little dust will cause this problem in any device that reads disc's.

You have a defective laser assembly, from the symptoms you describe. Get with the factory and get a new part installed...accordianman

Why won't bose play some cds

Could it be the CDs you can't play, are burned in a PC?
Not all CD players can or will play CD's burned in a PC. Sometimes the CD player is to old, so not compatible with these CDs. Sometimes the player just does not play these CD's, because of rights protection.
A CD burned in a PC is less reflective than an normal music CD. Normal CD's do have a metal coating and are highly reflective. Burned CD's have a dye, and where the laser burned the dye, it only changed colour. Making it less reflective.
All modern CD playes should be capable of playing CD r's. But the player that is really compatible, is labelled CDr and CDrw compatible.

My JVC cd player, plus Mini disc, and radio. CD will not play

Thank you for your email. The problem must have been dust. I kept putting the cleaning disc in for quite a number of times. Thankfully the problem was simple and it is playing super.

Kind regards to all.

My bose system is about 6 months old I have a three disc attachment with the system. When I place a cd in the player it scans it and says disc error and ejects the cd. I have tried several cds and it does...

That is a dirty or defetive lens, try using a len cleaner , like the ones here.
If this does not work it will be necessary to take apart the unit and accees the lens to clean it, or replace the lens pickup.
In this case call the number listed on the owner manual to get assistance, the unit should be under factory warranty.
Try cleaning the lens first.

Bose Wave Radio w/single CD player on top

My Bose Wave Radio/CD developed this problem about a year ago. I don't use the CD player much and kept the unit clean. The disc spins but, the system does not read it. Cleaning the lens with cotton did not help.

Read that Bose charges $75 to fix this problem.

Onkyo 6 disc cd player onkyo DX-C390

The unit can not read the discs. It will search through all 6 positions then quit. Try opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Update this with your results.

CD-MP3 Player stops after playing a specified number of Track

Check your lens on the laser....is it dirty? IF so it needs to be cleaned....STOP !!!......the laser lens is on the focusing mechanism, which is EXTREMELY delicate.

TO clean the lens, get a Q-Tip and some distilled water ( the lenses are plastic, so do not EVER use alcohol, cleaners, window cleaners,etc... on the lens. These will make the lens cloudy and you will then have to replace the mechanism).

Moisten the Q-tip ( Not to the point where it is dripping, but just moist ), and CAREFULLY clean all dust and dirt off the lens. Wait 10 minutes untill the lens has dried completely and try it then.

Hopefully this solved your problem. Dirt is the enemy of all Optically read formats.

Good luck... Rob
