Digital Noise Reduction. You can turn it on if you have hissing noises comming from the speakers. It filters the hiss out.

Depends what kind of connection you use to connect Your Didgital converter to TV, If you provide more details I might be helpful to solve the problem. Provide the model number of Your TV. And more details what input you use and what kind of cable/connection.

Power button on TV does not work. Power button on remote still turns on cable box but not TV

There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both. In your case, I would concentrate on the power supply section.

Any caps in these or any sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom need to be replaced.
If you repeatedly turn it off and on, eventually it'll probably stay on, but every time you turn it off, the TV will get harder and harder to start up until one day it just won't.
Sometimes you have to do the opposite to start it up and unplug it for some time and then try again.

If you aren't tech savvy, don't worry, read the rest of this solution and watch the videos.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the power supply and inverter / FM section for the backlights, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.
Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.
IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V or 25V or even a 50V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are positive it's only doing ripple filtering, and even then, you should go OVER, not under the uF rating).

Most of the caps that go are 10V 1000uF or 3300uF.

I found some great videos of the procedure (for many Samsungs with the same issue) on youtube.

As you can see, this issue spans plasma TVs, as well as large and small LCD TVs and monitors.
The parts are cheap, and skill required is minimal. There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.

Try unplugging the set for about 8 hours, press and hold power button for 3 seconds, wait 1/2 hour more, plug back in and see if the tv has reset itself.

The color keeps getting really bright and keeps going between very red or green?

It is actually a really simple problem. your blue picture tube is getting ready to go out. It is getting really bright because the filiment in the tube is starting to short out then after it shorts the colors will only be red and green. also you may notice that a section of the screen may look blurry. also a symptom of a dying tube. never fear though. the tubes can usually be found on ebay.

I fixed this by getting the service manual at http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download.php?fileid=32177

You don't have to sign up or pay anything; it's a free download.

Grab the first three parts and unrar them. In the service manual there is a section that shows you how to get into the Circuit Adjustment Mode (MENU, 1,2,5,7.) At the time of my repair I had a really bad bulge shape in my display. I was able to straighten everything out by adjusting values in there. There is a section in the manual that tells you what values to change; can't remember them offhand. You'll also want to perform a convergence adjustment after you straighten out the screen, as your colors won't be pointing in the right direction afterwards.

Do i need a didgital converter for my SDTV model #27F634T or does it have the digital tuner already and I can use an antennae to receive analog or digital signals?

Greetings mockus5,

If your unit is the RCA 24F634T, then yes, it does already have a digital tuner and is capable of using an antennae to receive digital and analog signals. No converter box would be needed.

Thank you,

Dorothy
