I bought a set of these off of ebay. Same exact thing happened. I thought it might be the transormer so i tried another one. it didn't help. I took the base apart but could not find anything loose or broken. I bought another set off of ebay, same problem yet again, the only differance is that these will stay on a few minutes before it turns off.

Can't get the base stay turned on, seems like a false contact, but there's no aparently damage

Exactly the same symptoms. The transmitter light goes on and the headphones work just fine. Then the light goes out and the sound stops. Perhaps this issue is a problem with heat dissipation in the transmitter. The unit gets too hot and the transmtter shuts down. Just a thought

I have always assumed this has to do with the level of the signal coming in.
I have had these headphones for a few years, getting them at a discount outlet for cheap, and have been quite pleased with them.

The light on the front indicates 3 things.
1) no light = not transmitting and not charging
2) green light = transmitting
3) red light = charging

When there is sufficient signal to transmit, the green light comes on.
If you are getting the signal from a Stereo, the line output may NOT be enough to keep the transmission on.
There seems to be a sensor, that figures out if htere is an incoming signal to transmit. I have toyed with the idea of locating that and disabling, so it would always transmit what is incoming, even if a low signal! But I don't have the know how.

As is, I use the headphones with my PC and generally it finds the signal strong enough to continue to transmit.

.. Thanks... Andrew

PS..The toughest thing about these haedphones, is going to be finding NiCad batteries to keep them working. If you go in the store these days, you can find lots of NiMetal Hydride, and NiCad are gone from the shelves!

Could be no power where you plugged in or a bad light, switch or fuse if it has one. Check the wiring for burned connections.

My head phones wont turn on

I was so upset today i was at school and my headphones wouldn't come on and that my friend told me that many people were having this problem and would end up returning it but i got home and noticed a dim dim almost cant see red light emitting from the earphone ( also turned off my lights to see this as-well ) that you turn it on from and i realized that they obviously had power still. So i looked up how to hard reset them and it worked ! they came back on and it was amazing to do this ( it says it in your manual) you plug the headphones in to a charger, push and hold the phone button and the volume + button and that does a factory reset and it made it come on and work i was so happy.

Asus w7sg-3p003c notebook no power

Check if the power source is charging. That means, the plug that goes into the wall should have a brick like box in the middle of the cord between the plug and laptop. That has a light on it. If it takes a charge and stays charged, the light will be green and bright. If there is no light, this is your problem. If no light, the power supply is shot and you need to get a new one. You can get that from a batteries plus store or the manufacturer. If the power supply charges and holds a charge, has the green light, but the laptop still wont come on, you should seriously consider taking it to an independant laptop repair place. They are pretty good on prices, as long as they are independant and not a manufacturer or retail store. The reason for that is, if it is in the laptop, it is a nightmare to troubleshoot if you don't have experience as inside the machine it is so packed in and compressed, you may never get it back together again.

The antenna will not power up

I have the same model as you.

Plug in the transmitting unit into a good working power outlet. Make sure you have the audio connected to a loud source. Turn on the source device producing the loud audio to be transmitted to your headphones. Now see if the transmitting unit's LED light is on. Check headphones for audio. (May have to tune in the headphones and adjust its volume as well).
I recommend that the source of your audio have its built-in speakers off, while still providing audio out to your transmitting unit, via an external audio output. Check your source manual or look for audio jacks on the front or back. There may be a setting to turn this on and for the main built-in speakers to be turned off as well.

If this does not work, unplug the transmitting unit, and then plug it back in again, after waiting for about 10 seconds - all while audio is being provided to the unit. It should come on.

Remember that if the audio to the transmitting unit is quiet OR off for about one minute, the transmitting unit will turn off and you will hear FM noise, loudly, on your headphones. This is due to the "lack of audio" timer built-in to the transmitting unit.

Try to press the power boton in the same time you plug the charger, after this action mine is working and charging perfectly, maybe this is the "reset" solution... Hope this helps you.

Red light isn't indicating it detects source

I have the same model as you.

Plug in the transmitting unit into a good working power outlet. Make sure you have the audio connected to a loud source. Turn on the source device producing the loud audio to be transmitted to your headphones. (This being your IPod - Turn it full blast). Now see if the transmitting unit's LED light is on. Check headphones for audio. (May have to tune in the headphones till green and adjust its volume as well).

Note: Some radio stations bleed over into the headphones and you may have gotten the "Beautiful Music" from this radio station frequency harmonic anomaly. Keep tuning your headphones till you hear your music or audio source.

Ear force x1 turtle beach headset, no green light showing!

Check to see if the USB plug is inserted properly. Try using a different USB plug on the XBOX. Also, check if the light comes on when you plug it into a USB plug on your PC or laptop. If the light doesn't come on then it might be broken. Send an email to support@turtlebeach.com and we'll send you informatin on how to get it fixed.
