Question about GPS Devices
I know that this is an issue for the folks who recently bought the Magellan Maestro 3225. The unit that I bought is from Costco. It came with the US, Canada and Puerto Rico Maps. I will be going back to Europe and I was trying to get Maps for Europe and the Tech Support (I think from India) said that the unit does not support both maps from US and Europe together. In other words, if I want Europe Maps, I need to get another unit that is designed for Europe. It is an odd answer because the way I understand is the system should have a dir that should contain maps that the main OS always accesses. Therefore, if it is so, then the map can be switched.
This leads to the next question: where do I get a compatible map?

From page two of the main menu tap user options (looks like a sheet of papers with three boxes and a red checkmark) then tap "region" and then tap the desired region you want to select.

I had the same problem, magellan would not give me a code for the map to just download but did agree to send me a new unit and then have me send back the old ubit after verifiying my receipt. did have to give them a credit card # to make sure I send back the old gps
