Question about SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player

Sansa e260 Not reseting

I tried the answer given here to reset my player and after all the steps are done, the player still says "Load Main Image Failed"
"Switch to Recovery Mode"
Am I SOL???

You need to go into Recovery mode: Sansa has one and Windows has one.

Sansa Recovery:Got to Sandisk's downloads section and get the Sansa Recvoery Tool http://www.sandisk.com/sansa/#/support-0/ and select e200 series; wrost case scenario if you can't find it here is to search the electronic version of the user's manual on that same website for the word "recovery"; http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/pdf/guides/e200/e200_userguide_en.pdf

Windows Recovery:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

It says that it has faild to load main image switch to recovery moad


try resetting the device first you should slide the Power switch up and hold it for approximately 20 seconds.
then. release the Power switch once the device is powered down.
Turn the device back on.

if that does not work then download and install sansa firmware updater from this link

if your problem is not solved after this then format your device.FORMATTING WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA SO ITS ADVICED TO BACK UP YOUR DATA BEFORE FORMATTING
From the Main Menu, select More > Settings/Options > System Settings > Format.

Sansa 260 R load main image failed message


Hello,

The Sansa e260 Rhapsody could be recovered by resetting the player.
How to reset the player :
1. Player switched on.
2. Press and hold the power button for approximately 30 seconds.
3. Put the player back on.


When the fault is not resolved a firmware update / reinstallation needs to be made. There are 2 steps needed for getting new firmware on the player.

Step 1: switching the player into recovery mode / MSC mode

1. Turn off the player.
2. Slide the Hold/Lock switch on top of the player so an orange color is showing.
3. Press and hold the REC button and connect the device to the computer.
4. A message will appear on the device display screen confirming the connection and a memory partition will be viewable in My Computer.
5. Release the REC button.
Step 2: Update the firmware ( updating firmware always in MSC mode, see Step 1 )

The Sansa updater installation on the computer should be the easiest way to update firmware.

Sansa e260 will not power up


Okay what you do for this is hold down the power button for 20-25 seconds or so. This will reset your Sansa e260 and then it will power up like normal. I have had this problem before. If that doesn't work then I don't know what will.

Load main image failed switch to recovery mode is on my screen and it is black I cant get it to do anything how do you reset it or switch to recovery mode?

It wont turn on


I would like to offer this solution, but this solution is only meant for the "Standard" E200 players (there are 2 types of E200 players -- the Standard E200 and the "Rhapsody" players, indicated with an "r" after the E200 such as "E260r". I'm hoping you have the standard E260. Switch your Sansa E260 to its Recovery Mode: 1. Make sure the player is powered off 2. Enable the "Hold" switch (located on the top of the player). Hi Alina. Seems like oyur Sansa E260 is experiencing some system errors. Here's a procedure you could try -- it's setting your player to the Recovery Mode and re-flashing its firmware.
