There may be a small glass fuse inside ( 5x20mm) You'd have to UNPLUG the AC and take the top case off to check.
The fuse is about 5/8 inch long with metal caps and glass in between
There should be a thin wire inside from end to end. If that is broken then your player wont work
    Replace fuse

This is a protection circuit that prevents the tv from coming on (to stop damage of the components) need to check your voltages off the power supply and make sure they all read well (EX: 24v12v5v etc). Also, look for popped capacitors that would make the values lower than need be for the tv to power on properly.

After you repair the power supply's capacitors you may need to replace other components if needed

BUT always start at the root of the problem (power supply) and work your way to other components

Please rate if this helps :)

I have changed the break switch and checked the fuse and light bulbs and still no break light.

Without knowing the exact year of the chrysler, I will only suggest some diagnostic ideas. One thing to remember is that Chrysler vehicles use the signal switch that is located in the steering colum to channel power to the rear brake lamps. The signal and break light elements are the same and the power supply is turned on and off as required using the signal switch as well as the break switch. Check the power supplies coming out of the steering colum. There is a connector in the lower region of the steering colum that will allow a power supply check. You may have to include more vehicle information on your next diagnostic request.

The power won't stay on when the power button is pushed. I've tried blowing it out to see if it's just dirt but I think the connection is just not working with the button.

when you press the power button is there a light indicator or the machine turn on even for a few seconds. if not maybe its the power supply or the power cord.
it could be internal problem

Monitor blinks off for about two seconds and loses power.

This problem sounds like a failure of the monitor power supply switching transistors breaking down under load conditions. This unit needs to be taken to a service center for repair. It also could be other intermittent components affecting the power supplied to the monitor. Hope this helps.

Will not record or play back VHS for more than 30 seconds

I can tell you some ideas genericaly for VCR's.

This could be an idler wheel assembly problem, or a tape tension, or a reel torque problem.

It can also be a power supply problem where the supply is working just on the edge. Due to some worn components in the supply it can be partialy shutting down.

Your machine will have to be checked out by an experienced VCR tech.

I can rebuild your power supply if it is not in aches. A Compute power supply works with these unit if you know how to modify it.
