May be you should try to change all your old ELCO and DDR bus termination regulator (the type is vary depend on the manufacturer) on the GA-EP35-DS3R ...AFTER you buy yourself a new board...or try to check your powersupply current and voltage..check your hdd for bad sector, check your memory for a defective chip (with a multitester, a hirens boot cd or mini pe or bart pe), check your proc and chipset temperature..

The Motherboard is going bad if it restarts on it's own. I suggest you try a different board.

Turning on my laptop (satelite L730) for the first time, i followed the quickstart installation guide as instructed and followed onscreen prompts, for the last 4 hours an install windows window has popped...

If this laptop is new, it will have a 12 months warranty. There is a major problem with this laptop. I suggest you take it back to the supplier for repair or replacement.

After replacing a new hard drive my computer now failed to boot, it keep restarting. I then replaced it the old hard drive again and the same problem as above. Please help.

it seems that you know what you are doing -
it seems that the problem is with in the connections
please recheck the connections

the best way is
1) unplug the HDD (hard disk) Power and Data cable
and turn on the PC -- check whether its working (or is it rebooting/restarting)
if its restarting then there is something wrong somewhere else

here you said you just replaced the Hard drive --
there are 2 IDE Slots - check connecting the Hard drive to IDE 2
and use the same Data cable for CD/DVD and HDD --

2) check the RAM Connection unplug and replug (it might be loose)
but be careful Power supply shout be OFF while playing with Connections

3) Check the Connection to the board -

don't worry it will work

Hi my mother bord is merucry PVM7Pro V:1.0 VIA

If you need help to fix your computer, we will give it to you, provided that you give us four (4) pieces of information. (1) Manufacturer's or Computer's name; (2) Model name and number; (3) *********** board ID (if you can't find it we can help you do so); (4) the most impotant is number 4 because this is how we get our info. to put into our mathematical prototype. We need in all possible detail what happened just before failure, during the failure and after the failure. Then we have the general position of the failure. When we give you instructions, it is not guesses, but facts. Actually you will have all the glory, because it is you that will fix his own, his proper computer based in our instruction and you following our instruction. try replacing your power supply unit... computer restart is sometimes caused by low voltage output from a faulty power supply.

Memory problem

you could check the timings in the bios for your memory. if they match. you could at least try to set it to 133 and set it to manual and not by speed. give it a try.
