Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

I'm trying to connect my Kindle 3 to my wireless network (Cisco Linksys wireless-N broadband router) and I get the error message "unable to connect to wi-fi network. The password you entered is...

Four reasons come to mind that may prevent you from connecting:
  1. Wi-Fi Passwords are case sensitive. Please check again if you entered the password with proper casing and you did not put any extra white space in front or behind. I know, this sounds annoying, but it is really the most common cause for connection problems.
  2. Give your network a unique SSID. This is the network name that shows up in the list of detected networks. Default names like LINKSYS can be troublesome if a neighbor one block down the street happens to have a router from the same company.
  3. Some routers have a MAC address filter as a security measure, limiting service to devices specifically whitelisted. If your router is set up for this, add your Kindle's MAC address to the list of permitted devices. See your router's configuration under Wireless > Wireless MAC Filter. You can check the MAC of your Kindle from its settings page (press HOME, MENU, select SETTINGS, see paragraph headlined "Device Info".
  4. There are twelve different standards for Wi-Fi transmission collected under the hood IEEE 802.11. The four most dominant transmission modes are called a, b, g and n. They differ in radio frequency, modulation method and data rate. Kindle supports the two standards IEEE 802.11 b and g only, which is not really a problem because all wireless routers I ever encountered support one or both of these, too. However, the Linksys N-series can be set up to use 802.11n exclusively, not allowing for b or g connections. In the router menu Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings (Manual Setup), make sure the network mode is configured as "Mixed".
Please add a comment to this solution if one of these items resolved your problem. If you suffered from a different issue I did not think of, it would be nice to drop me a line, too. Other people will benefit from any experience you made.

My laptop is connected to my unsecured wireless network via my linksys router, but my iPad and other laptop will not connect. I am getting an error message that says, "Unable to join the network...

I would try to set up the network with a new SSID due to settings being saved in some devices, and because someone else may have a linksys network set up that you may accidentally be connecting to.

After that, try basic security settings.

Also, make sure you don't have MAC address filtering enabled on the router. To check this, you will have to login to the admin area and look for MAC address filtering.

It says please check your network access. but everything is fine

if you are having this error, it means there is a problem in the configuration of your phone browser profiles. try to check the settings of your browser profiles and try again.you can see this configuration through your internet, select settings, select browser profiles, and check the list of network configurations there or press the forward arrow >> and check the configuration of your network. or else, try to ask the right configuration from you network provider.

take care.

Unable to get to configuration on DSL-G604T

to get the settings for the route and find the address do the following

right click on the network computers in the system tray (bottom right hand corner)

then open the network center
then click on local area connection then go details

the address of your router is next to the IPv4 Defualt Gateway *.*.*.*

now type this into your browser and you should be at you settings page

easier way is to check the bottom of the modem itself and there should be a ip address just enter that into your browser

Unable to acces the ap with some network cards

Can your laptor detect any other networks? If not make sure that your wireless switch is turned on.
If wireless switch is turned on and laptop detects other networks then your router is set not to transmit ssid (check router manual on how to configure SSID transmission mode).

Unable to connect wireless

Since you are unable to go via wireless, follow these steps:

1) Access your router configuration pages by typing in 192.168.1.1 into your web browser.
2) Click the tab that says Wireless.
3) Make sure the wireless broadcast option is enabled. If it isn't, enable it and select save settings.
4) Set up the wireless network through your Vista PC by going to Start > Network.
5) At the top of the window, select add a wireless device. Follow the onscreen instructions to add your Linksys Wireless Access Point.
6) Once added, right click on Wireless-G Router (name varies) and select configure. Follow the onscreen instructions to configure your router. (You can find your router pin by following steps 1-2 and selecting Wi-Fi Protected Set up.)
7) Once completed, attempt to connect to the internet via wireless router.

I have a W385 with Boost Mobile Unlimited. Up until a few weeks ago I was unable to send MMS messages. I called boost and all they asked me to do is go into Settings/Tools > Data Services > Update...

I know that to actually send and recieve MMS, it depends on the configuration settings from your sevice provider so if what they asked you to do, did not work, then I suggest that you take the phone to them personally so that they configure it themselves for you. If there is any other mistaken changes by you, they should be able to find out and correct it for you.
