You actually need to go out and get a universal remote for this tv. there are many which are supported you can go just about anywhere and get anyone. sometimes it is a hassle to program them. and you have to start a 1 and keep programming it till it works. but that isnt the case with all toshibas. but with this model it shows in the manual you have to have a remote or universal remote.

Reginal code for model dv450


Hello Guin,

The region code hack for DV454 works perfectly on LG DV450:
1: Press "Open" button on the player
2: Press "pause" button on the remote
3: Press "3" "1" "4" "1" "5" "9" button on the remote
4: You can check on the TV screen as now you can set your region code.
5. Press "0" button on the remote to select "Multiregion".
6. Press "pause" button on the remote.
7. Swith Off the player and wait for a few sec.
8. Swith On the player and it works.

swith the "mode" button (on the top) to the directv symbol(the first one) the tv will still work in that mode.

If the batteries have been replaced the volume and tv power function from the remote will not work.
I t will need to be reprogrammed, the codes are 11100, 10000, 11312 if the ok select swith is red if the ok select swith is grey then use the code 0000 or 0111
