the motor runs but the head doesn't turn like the shaft broke going down to the head please help can it be replaced or is it time to buy another?

If you have the model # NST2018 then the only thing wrong is that a .30 cent retainer clip at the upper end of the spindle shaft is missing. A local hardware store should have one that will work. There should be a thin washer that will go between the sleeve bearing and the retainer clip that will be inside the housing as well.
