If you have the model # NST2018 then the only thing wrong is that a .30 cent retainer clip at the upper end of the spindle shaft is missing. A local hardware store should have one that will work. There should be a thin washer that will go between the sleeve bearing and the retainer clip that will be inside the housing as well.

Trimmer head won't rotate

Usually this is a clutch problem, the clutch is under the drum and when it engages turns the drum which turns the drive shaft which turns the trimmer head. If the drum is not turning than it is the clutch, if the clutch is turning the drive shaft could be broke, if the drive shaft is not broke than the problem would be in the gears of the trimmer head.

Car not firing

Most likely the valves were bent.
When you attempt to start the motor does it turns over a bit fast and will not sound quit right - Not even attempt to spark up or fire up.
Check engine cylinder compression. The valves were bent when the belt broke.
you will
1. check compression (and when it fails)
2. decide to have the head checked and if possible rebuilt (use new head bolts)
or
3. Look for and buy a low milage used motor
or
4. Look for a rebuilt head

My troy bilt tb70ss trimmer sounds like something is stripped the motor will wind out but the head wont move its only 1 1/2 years old

will need to check if any debris is wrapped around head jamming the head --or -flex shaft is jammed or damaged separate shaft from motor and will see in shaft the flex shaft that turns the head try turning head by hand and observe flex shaft if binding or broke need to lube or replace

My grasshog weed trimmer only spins when it is upside down.

It sounds like the rod that runs from the motor to the head, is either loose or it has broken, so when you turn it upside down that causes it to engage itself and turn. You will have to take this apart and make sure that the holding clamps are in place

B&D grasshog XP motor squeeled and spin rate slowed. repairable?

Hello,

I just saw your post. Check the area between the housing and the head, along the shaft. Fibrous debris (in my area, this loosely translates into "lilly leaves") gets wound around the shaft, and will slow the universe down to a crawl. The only way to get it loose is to cut it loose, or unwind it.
Best regards, --W/D--

Whirlpool Washer does not drain and tub does not seem to be turni

sounds like a broke drive coupling. lean the machine back look under the front you will see the motor in the center with a pump mounted on the front behind the motor is the gear case between the motor and gearcase is the drive coupling. To replace it disconect the power, remove the two clamps holding the pump on,remove the pump disconect the wiring harness to the motor now on the front of the motor there are two screws one on top and one one the bottom one the front of the motor with a 1/4 scocket romove the two screws. with a flat head screwdriver release the top clamp on the motor now the motor should tilt down and you can lift it off the coupling is on the short shaft of the motor and on the shaft of the gear case remove both may need to use a flathead screwdriver to get the one off the gearcase replace using a 1/2 deep well scocket and short extention and hammer tap them both on lightly but be sure the go all the way on put the rubber part of the coupling on the gearcase side and turn one of the fingers to 12:00 position turn one on the motor to 6:00 put motor back on the gear case bracket and put the top clamp on frist put the bottom clap back on insert screws put pump back on put pump clamps back on note you will have to turn the ootor to line the shaft up to go into the pump reconect the motor wiring harness plug machine in and test
