I have a Canon MP240 and when I send things by scanning and then by email the things I send are too small for the people to read. How can I make it larger.

Put your paper that you want to scan onto the glass on your printer. Press the scan button. The printer will display a list of application choices that are installed on your pc and acceptable to send your scanned image to. Choose one of these appications listed to confirm where you want your scan to go to (what program you want to send it to and open it up to edit it in) and then just press ok or start.

you can also click on the canon link that should be on your desktop and choose scan. Then follow the instructions on the screen to view and save your image.

Updating your printer's device-drivers will not be helpful.

Within Internet Explorer:
click File
point at Send
click Link by E-mail

This should open your "E-mail program".
Check the settings, e.g. "outgoing SMTP server".

Sounds as though you need the complete software download for your MP240 and Vista. I recommend uninstalling your current driver before using the following from Canon support: (choose your operating system)

When the scanner is broken you get an error code, otherwise you read the manual, and have scanning software running on your computer before you try to scan. It can't scan until you tell it what you're scanning, how to save it, and where to send the scanned image.

In Canon Pixma MP240 there is a paper support tab which is in the back side of the Scanning lid. just turn into upright position and pull up to open the input tray.

Place the item you want to scan face down on the glass and press the SCAN button

You should go to the support section on the CANNON website and click on she "Drivers and download" tab

Select the file marked MP240 Onscreen manual for either windows or mac (depending on what you have) and download / save it then run the program

This will install the ONSCREEN manual and from there you can navigate to the section on SCANNING

It won't scan unless it's connected to a computer, and has the scan software running. Will it copy a document on the glass?

Unfortunately the IR2200 cannot scan to email etc. It can only do pull scanning using the Canon Network Scangear Tool (google it and download from Canon website and read the manual).
The IR2200i however can scan to email using Universal Send.

I suspect you are choosing too small of a resolution in the scanning software. The specs from Canon say it will outout a maximum of 1200x2400 which should give you a much bigger image. Look through the manual again specifically looking for how to change the scan resolutions.
