If you're trying to use the slider on the screen to answer the phone call it may be that the phone speed it too slow to process the swipe. Just use the call button on the lower left side of the phone(as you're looking at it) to answer the call. Works like a champ.

Phone won't let me answer calls

Your answering machine may be set to answer only. Refer to manual to correct this. You need to set the machine to answer on whatever ring you choose. Turn off answering machine to receive calls until you rectify the issue.

Voice mail blinks & won't clear

There are messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This records messages when people call while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

How do I set the number of rings before the answering machine picks up on a Vtech CS6114 cordless handset?

The CS6114 isn't an answering machine. It won't pick up any calls on its own.

If you have an answering machine attached, refer to the documentation for that machine or else repost your question specifying the make and model of your answering machine.

If you subscribe to an answering service provided by your phone company, contact them for information and help.

Why do you have to press talk to answer the pdone

There has to be some action to tell the phone you're answering the call. Old phone did so when you picked up the handset. With this phone, you might have picked up the handset just to check the caller ID, so it won't answer the call upon removing the phone from the cradle. Besides, you might have picked up the phone to go out onto the patio or to the bathroom, for example. How is the phone then to know you want to answer a call?

Answering machine Model 25865. Is there any way to turn the answering machine "on" remotely. Example: while away, electrical storm causes machine to turn off. Is there any way to remotely...

The manual for this phone doesn't say you can turn the answering machine on remotely, but every one I've ever seen can do so. Most of them say call your number and let the phone ring...and ring...and ring, and eventually the answering machine will turn on. Ten rings is what I've seen most often. I guess the manufacturers figure most callers will hang up fairly soon if the machine doesn't answer, so they pick a large number. Try it on your phone; worst that can happen is it won't work.

I want to stop a certain caller from contacting us, without the dispay 00 going off, so my family member doesn't know they called. How do I do it. or can it even be done?

There is a service provided by your dialtone provider called selective call rejection. Call your service provider have them turn the service on and you can add the phone numbers of the calls you want rejected and they won't show up on caller ID. The is a cost associated and varies with provider.
I hope this helps. Have a great day.

My Radio Shack Digital Telphone Answering Device TAD-3829 worked well for a little over a year. However a few days ago I discovered that I cannot receive incoming calls anymore; on the callers side there...

These 3829's do that often. After about 1 year or so of use, something fails internally, resulting in the symptom you see. Sometimes you get "Er" on the display, or the machine simply won't pick up and answer the call.
Bottom line - this model's not very good. Ditch it.

My Binatone symphony 3325 won't dial international calls, what is the answer?

A lot of cell phones have locks on them that will ban international calls unless you have an international calling plan on your account. Best bet is to call your Cellular Phone Provider (AT&T, Verizon, Bell Aliant, etc) and make sure there isn't an international calling block on your account.
