Owners manual lists the fuses as :
Engine compartment fuse # 105, 40A
- This is the power to the blower motor relay to drive the blower.

Cab Fuse Panel, Fuse #22, 10A. This is the power to the switch in the HVAC panel.
- This fuse through the switch to operate the relay coil on the blower motor relay.

The other thing to check is the blower motor resistor, to see if there is any damage to it ( usually this is the blower only works on high )
This is behind the glove box

Heater fan motor does not work

If you have a multimeter or 12v-24v light probe attach one lead to body of vehicle (vehicle seat bolt in floor is a good place), in the case of meter, black lead goes here, light probe has alligator clip, then other lead push point into leads on motor red one should be live with ignition on & fan on max, if no power then I'd say check fuses & the fan switch, try removing plug near fan motor & applying 12v directly to the two wires, it should not matter which way you wire this, it will still run if it's going to, but if one is red & the other black, then red is positive.Good luck, these motors very rarely give out, my guess is the switch...

My battery dies with the engine off in my 2001 F-150. At one point the fan that blows into the cab would run with the engine off. What could be the problem?

This sounds like an issue some 97-03 MY F-150s have, where a windshield ( or roof panel ) leak down into the area by the Cab fuse panel, and soak the GEM ( Generic Electronic Module ), causing all sorts of strange problems.

Depending on how long this has been happening, resealing ( or replacing if bad enough ) the windshield is in order, and dry out of the dash area with a small space heater can cure the issue.

If this has been happening too long the GEM to Cab fuse panel ( it is bolted to the back of the cab fuse panel ) connector pins can be discolored / corroded and the fuse panel / GEM needs to be removed and the pins cleaned ( hard to do on the female connector ).

Here is the manual section on GEM removal for the 1997, the process is very similar on the '02 MY F-150

Fan in my 98 f-150 quit running

Good Morning,
You can check the fuses and also if you can unplug or splice into the blower motor wires, you can jump wire the blower motor directly to the battery and it should work! If it don't you need a new blower motor. Please let me know if this helps you and thank you for using FixYa!

2002 F-150 blower motor stopped working.

There are 4 things to check out to pin point the problem: the switch it's self, the blower relay switch, resistor block, and the blower motor it's self. good luck
