I recently moved and now my remote control does not work. I put in a new battery thinking that was the issue - but it still does not work. Any idea what the issue is? Otherwise is there some way to make my disc play without the remote?
Reset remote. If universal remote, put on dvd mode.
If your remote has a Reset button, take out
the batteries and press the Reset button for 2 or 3 seconds. Re-inset the
batteries and try using the remote again.
Note: Many remotes have a small hole
marked Reset instead of a raised Reset button. To activate the Reset function,
you need to push a thin, rigid wire (for example, a straightened paper
clip) into the hole to "press" the Reset button. Also, the Reset button or Reset hole
may be located under a sliding cover on the lower section of the remote.
Remove the batteries
and hold down the POWER
button for 1 minute. Insert
fresh batteries and try
using the remote control
If this does not solve
your problem, remove the
batteries again and press
and release each button
on the remote control
once, then repeat. Re-insert
the batteries and try
operating your remote again.
Otherwise you need a new remote. If under warranty call manufacture to see about getting one free of charge. They can also help you purchase a new one if not under warranty.

Check the leads of the remote where the batteries are inserted. Sometimes the leads corrode that causes a non-contact. Scratch it using a smooth sandpaper or even a utility knife to erase the corroded part.
Try cleaning the leads that attaches the negative and positive side of the battery, is the product within warranty still? Please try pressing the panels button as well just to verify if its only the remote that you are having issue with. If your product is witihin the one year warranty, you can call the manufacturer for an accessory replacement.
Can I make an offer to the people with remote control problems? I recently bought two Ellion DVR-960E from an auction. They both came complete with remote controls. Unfortunately only one of the machines did not but luckily enough the other one worked perfectly along with both remote controls.
The downside is I do not have the instruction manual so I'm not sure how all the fuctions work. I contacted Ellion but 1 month later I have heard nothing.
Therefore I thought we could help each other. If someone could scan then email me the instruction manual. I would in return send you my spare remote control. I would post in a padded envelope and pay the £1 postage.
recently I also got same recorder and faced the same
problem with the remote controller.
today i tried to solve this. i opened it up. it turned
out the battery connections are not proper.
The battery connection are in the form of a spring
coil which touches the outerside of the battery which
is not touching properly. I bent and slight lift it with
a plier and it started working.
The other connection is touching front side of the
battery(on backside you see label cr2025 printed) and
this is alright. I hope it works for you too.
with best regards
