Stops mid cycle

My washer won't advance past the third cycle. It will beep until I shut everything down, restart the washer and advance the cycle to the proper spot.

It may be a out of balance alarm during a spin cycle. Re-balance the clothes and hit start.

My GSX4756 dishwasher seemed to stop mid cycle and the start light is flashing. I have pressed the start button until the light goes out but as soon as I close the door it starts again on the rinse cycle...

I think.
However, rarely have I encountered an inlet valve that emitted a burning smell. So I'd expect there to be some other problem in there.
But, if the inlet valve didn't pass the test, then it needs to be replaced. Plus, if it was stuck on the rinse cycle and the valve was out, then that is where the cycle would hang up.
Burning smells usually come from a motor, a belt, shorted wiring or a heating element. So if everything else checks out, then go for replacing the valve. The instructions are included in our dishwasher repair section.

Clogged pump stopped up drain. If the washer does not think all water was pumped out in 8 minutes then it shuts down. Slow drain is my first inclination.

Kenmore Elite HE4t stopping in mid cycle with F abd DL errors

See Phoebe 112 latest solution! This is a common problem with these washers. For a quick fix you can usually get it going again by unplugging it for 30 mins. so the computer will reset. You will hear a slight buzzing noise when it resets. If it keeps doing it, go to the comment for Feb. 14, 2009 and try that if you are handy. Unplug the machine before doing any of this as with any machine that is electric or you will probably get the shock of your life.
