You might be even be able to repair it yourself depending on what kind of problems it has and what kind of monitor it is and if you have a soldering iron and you know how to use one.

tell me more about the problem.

Could be a number of problems

    1. not connected to a computer or not getting signal from computer, try another display with the computer or the display on another computer.

it could be that your computer is not working instead, are you sure the monitor is faulty. If you need to find a repairer, where are you located I could look up someone.

If you remove the cable and give only power to the monitor, if check signal cable text comes up and flies around the screen then the fault is the mainboard of the display.

If noting comes up and the light just flahes the problem is either powersupply or backlights, the display won't turn on with faulty backlights, its a safety mechanism.

Quit working

Hey there,

If your monitor has quit working then, unless you are a qualified technician, your only options are to replace the monitor or take it to a qualified service technician.
I would not recommend opening or attempting any repair on this product yourself.

All the best :)

Just quit working cant turn on

Hi:
There is most likely no inexpensive fix for your monitor. The most likely failure is in the high voltage circuit board inside the monitor, and though it could be repaired, it is usually cheaper to buy a new monitor than pay to fix yours, since new ones are around a $100 or so.

Look in the power supply section first for bad caps, post back what you find inside, pictures will help a lot to guide you through, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Need to send my acer 24" monitor to the closes repair shop. panel good, back light good, doesn,t come on hook to working system screen works fine but will knock modem out of port. roger l. fetterly, 4511...

Roger, read up and see if this makes sense. I recently bought a 19-inch Acer on e bay. It arrived today. I got it apart and found it to have the typical power supply capacitor failure that many other LCD monitors have. I have fixed a few Gateway monitors with this problem, this is my first Acer repair. I was happy to find that the Acer was a little easier to get apart. The problems exhibited by these failures are usually quite similar in some ways, particularly "works for a while and quits" "will not come on" or in your case, where it all works if the computer is already started up. Yours sounds like it may also have this capacitor failure. In your case, the failed capacitors may allow noise on the display cable to give the OS a fit in attempting to do it's hardware detection at startup, causing the disruption of the detection of the monitor and modem.
Ok maybe that was TMI, but going for repairs knowing something about what to expect is not a bad thing. The parts required for the repair should be under $10.00 and I did my repair in under an hour.

I don't have any idea where you will find a repair center but if you check the Acer website http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/index.htm
Click on the service inquiries link and enter your locality, they may have someone to suggest.

Monitor not working

You can check the date of manufacture on the back of the monitor. If the monitor is over a year old there is no warranty repair. It's possible to get it repaired locally you'll just need to find a repair shop.

HP MX 75 CRT monitor just quit working. No light on the on button.

...strictly as, at at best. a long shot: according to a post I just read somewhere online about this HP MX 75, pressing AND HOLDING the + button on the monitor front and at the same time turning the monitor on and off repeatedly, may fix problems with this monitor.

Philips 170b 17" LCD Monitor

Does the screen go to the top of the page by any chance if so their is a possible cable problem that links your PC to your monitor, to repair this you must take it to a electrical repair shop, its quite a small job and your screen should be back up and running in no time, it happened to my packard bell monitor aswel and i managed to get it repaired.

Hope this answers ur question John.
