Question about Radio Shack Pro-95 Handheld Scanner
If your situation is such that the frequencies display, but there is nothing but the hiss, it could be a
loose solder joint or broken lead from the antenna connector to the board. I have had mine break loose several times and had to replace the lead and solder it into the board.
Check it very closely

A component in the frequency synthesizer circuit bit the dust. This is a common problem but may not be cost effective to repair. Radio Shack scanners are not well made & are susceptible to failure.
