I have mitsubishi mirage 2000 my car stereo is antitheft it needs a code to go back on i bought used and cant get contact from the person i end up buying it from can you help me.

I recently changed the battery in my car, and now my radio display indicates 'CODE' or 'OFF' and the radio is not working. What do I need to do?

As part of the radio's anti-theft system on some older model year vehicles (2002 and older), the radio resets itself whenever it loses power from the vehicle's battery. Radio security codes are associated with each individual radio unit rather than the vehicle identification number (VIN) (since a vehicle could have the radio replaced). The radio security code must be input in the radio in order for the radio to work.

When you purchased your vehicle, you should have received a card that lists the four digit security code for the radio. If you are unable to locate this card (sometimes owners find it inserted in the Owner's Manual or glove box), the radio will need to be removed so that you can locate the Part Number and Serial Number for your specific radio. The Part Number typically begins with the letters 'MR' and the Serial Number is generally a string of digits and both numbers can be located on the audit unit's chassis.

Please contact your local Authorized Mitsubishi Dealer if you need assistance removing the radio. Once the Part Number and the Serial Number are in hand, your Dealer can access the security code for that radio. You may also contact our Customer Relations Call Center at 1-888-MITSU2011 (1-888-648-7820) and one of our agents will be happy to provide you with the security code and steps to reset the radio as long as you have the Part Number and Serial Number for your radio unit. Agents are available Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (PT).

Battery went flat now no radio. The Motor vehicle Dealers where I purchased this second hand *** import have no record of the code to unlock the radio. My Honda is a 2005 Honda Fit

If the dealer cannot help then you must contact the support site of Honda to help you out.
Only if these codes are set the radio will work. Please check to see if the owners manual is market with these codes as most often dealers put them in. Also check the service centre where the car was serviced periodically.

Needs radio code after battery went dead. 2001 Mercedes benz e 430 4 matic.

Hi there,
You will need to contact any Mercedes Benz Service center with your VIN from the vehicle. They may also need you to provide evidence of your ownership for the vehicle. This is a standard precaution associated with security codes. Only the owner of the vehicle is allowed the information. They will give you the code from records kept against the vehicle.

When ever I connect the fuse in the power cable to my car, my car doesn't start. But when I remove the fuse it takes a couple tries then the car starts again. Is the battery my problem?

NO! I hope I am incorrect, but it sounds like a "Dead Short" in your power wire. If you are not fused at the battery and at the amp, you are creating a bomb!. That said, if I'm wrong and you have fuses at the battery and amplifier. God Bless Ya!. What you will need to do is go to any battery house or even Walmart. They can load test the battery and let you know if it has an internal failure causing no cranking amps, yet still reads 12volts on a meter. Second thing to do is check your starter feed from the battery for corrosion, check both sides and make sure contacts are clean and no corrosion has "wicked" up the wire. This can cause your vehicle to eat batteries more than any other issue I have ever encountered. Lastly, never run a car audio system that includes an amp without your vehicle running. That's the number 2 cause of battery failure. Hope this helps. If you need to dig any further, post a comment with all the specifics: Year Make and Model vehicle, then list equipment models. Best of luck

I have a 1996 vs commodore, Just change battery and now the radio needs a code, I do not have the code, I have recently purchased the car. My question is........Is there a default code to resolve this...

Nope.. But it's an easy fix for your local Holden dealership. They take the serial of the radio, and (on their database) look up the code. It will only take em a few minutes, which they don't normally even bother charging you for...

That is unless they are in a grumpy mood!!

Remote starter installation - disabled Bose car radio

It could be the stereo has an anti-theft lock-out that requires a code to be put in after the battery is disconnected. Your manual should have the code and instructions on how to enter it, or the dealer can do it.
Hope this helps.
