As far as I know, wordpad is the most basic text processor and is unable to format text in pages, diferent fonts on the same page and other advanced text formating. Get an advanced text software like Open Office which is free or Microsoft Office which costs. Both are capabile to do advanced text and page formatting.

I want to number pages in Notepad documents

Notepad alone will not number your pages for you. If you determine how many lines fit on a printed page you then could format your Notepad document accordingly and place a page number at the bottom of each page. This may take experimentation and will depend on your font type and size as well. So play around and you should be able to figure out what works in your case.

The email which i receive looks ok on thepage but

Are you copying your emails from outlook into Notepad then printing? If this is the case you must realize that notepad doesn't save formatting when information is copied from another media.

Try copying your Email into a Program such as WordPad, or Microsoft Works. It will keep true to the original formatting and will solve this problem.

Pixma IP3000 will not print

try to do this set of instruction & solution:

  1. Go to Start | Control Panel | Printers And Other Hardware | Printers And Faxes. Double-click the icon for your printer to open the Documents window and clear any pending print jobs by selecting Cancel All Documents from the Printer drop-down menu
  2. Try printing a test page from the printer, not from Windows XP. Most printers have a built-in test function that's activated by holding down one or more buttons while the printer is starting up. Check your printer's user manual for instructions. If this page prints successfully, you know the problem is either with your connection or with the software in your computer.
  3. Check your printer's USB or parallel connection.
  4. Try printing something simple from Windows' Notepad. To open Notepad, go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | Notepad, type a few lines of text in a document, and try printing it. If it successfully prints, the problem is with the software program you originally tried to print from.
  5. Try printing using Windows XP's generic printer driver. Open and run the Add Printer Wizard. When you get to the Install Printer Software screen, select Generic under Manufacturer and Generic/Text Only under Printers (see Figure 2).
  6. Select No for Do You Want To Use This Printer As The Default Printer? (see Figure 3). Click Next.
  7. When prompted on the next screen, tell Windows XP to print a test page. If the page successfully prints, then you probably have a problem with your installed printer driver. Either update or reinstall the driver.

Printing blank page at the end of every printing job

Hi Keren,

1) Are you sure it is the printer, not the software application ?

Try printing a single "Hello World" message from "Notepad"

If there is no blank page at the end of it, the problem is in
the specific software app: Office, Word, Excel, etc...

2) What application are you printing from?

a) Check the page and print setup.

b) Make sure the application's "page size" and the printer's
paper size are consistent. Pay special attention to
metric paper sizes vs English:

E.g. A4 vs Letter

If the page with margins is bigger than the paper, it will
generate a new page, even though there are no visible
characters on it.

c) Check the print margins within the page setup:
In MS-Office: File ---> Page Setup --->

d) Add a single character to the very bottom of your
document, and see if it wraps around onto the last page.

Microsoft office applications are notorious for wrapping
the last PARAGRAPH character onto the next page if
it does not quite fit onto the paper.

e) if you are using MS WinWord, go into options and set it
to display all special characters:

Check to make sure that there are no page-breaks at
the end of the document.

Also look for extra paragraph marks/ carriage returns,
and check the format settings on the last paragraph
mark in the document:

Page brake before...
Keep lines together ....
Widow and orphan control ...

which can cause the last paragraph mark to generate a
new page. If the last paragraph mark is not formatted
the way you want it, make sure that you save the
TEMPLATE after you change it, since this is the
DEFAULT setting for all new documents.

Finally it is also possible for Windows applications to look
different on the screen than the final print due to small
(but cumulative) True Type Font (TTF) computation erros,
such that a 10 page document on the screen can actually
page-split in weird places printing as 11 pages.

====
I have the identical model of printer, and it does NOT seem
to have any settings for printing banners or adding separator
pages, at least not in my printer driver, but this is NOT to say
that the applications you are using are not causing this
problem.

I hope this gets you started.

Please rate my answers.
