The diagram did not help. Is there anything else we can do. Last time it cost $85 to have an "expert" come and he unplugged the machine and turned it on and it worked? Any ideas please to save my dishpan hands would be really appreciated

Hi,
This is most likely a control board problem... the relay that turns the drain functions on and off is stuck in the on position.
To fix this problem a new control board needs to be ordered and installed.
Installation is not that hard, but usually the inside panel of the door will need to be completely removed to access the control board...

If your drain pump motor is not shutting off then it is possible that the program controller is faulty. The failure of the drain control circuit- short the driver output can be the reason that the pump is activated continuosly .
Since most of these board are filled with epoxy , it must be seen if the shorted device can be taken out and replaced.
Use a multimeter to trace the line back to the PCB, check the board with the continuity of the line from the pump output to confirm .

It is possible the float switch has triggered or is malfunctioning.

Look at the diagram for item 266.

My Kenmore dishwasher does not fill with water when switch is turned on. What could be the problem?

First thing to distinguish is which motor are you hearing working is it the wash motor or is it the drain motor. Describing what you have above I would tend to think that it would be the drain motor that you are hearing on the drain pump itself. This happens for a couple reasons in a dishwasher. One your Float switch could be defective. Two you could have a leak condition in the unit and the drain pump is trying to pump out the water due to this issue. Three you could have a clogged drain line or exit port where your drainlines goes into your sink or in the drain line itself. Four would be a clog in the drain pump itself or the impellar of the pump is not turning. How much water do you have on the inside of the machine and is the machine draining if it is draining then I would look at the float switch first in the unit. I will await your reply as to your finds and if you have any further questions message me back
Thank you
Rick

In the middle of washing it shows 0E and shuts off. I open and closed the door it start working and does the same thing and middle of washing again. What is wrong?

Hi, it is a Drain Error OE
Which means it is not fully drained out in spite of 5 min. drain operation
The Drain Hose kinked or blocked. The drain outlet of sump is blocked. The Drain Pump/Motor or circuit is troubled.
Remove the cause of kink or block. Check the wiring connection. Measure the electric resistance of Drain Motor. (20-40 ) Replace the Drain Motor or repair the Circuit.

My ge washer shuts off at 19 minutes, but filter is clean

The rug backing may have gone into the pump (the white motor thing) you might take the motor out and flush it out if it is clear and it still won't pump out the pump needs replaced.

Water is not draining completely from the dishwasher. About 1-2 inches remain in the bottom. Seems to drain most of the water during the wash cycle, but a bit remains. Thoughts on how to fix this?

either the check valve on the end of the drain hose that connects to the drainpump motor is closed shut or sometin is clogged inside the drain hose..... also maybe you pump motor assmbly is faulty... u prob need wet/dryshop vac and drain it out from inside then check that hose... hope this helps... possibly may need to replace that drain hose,,, prob not worth reparing if its a pump motor depending on which brand some had 5 yr part warranties on the pump motor assembly

Not filling or draining

The drain motor (pump out motor) in line with the outlet pipe could be faulty. This motor must spin (to pump out water) in the drain mode. If AC (mains)voltage is across motor in pumpout mode and the motor does not spin indicates that the motor is open circuit and needs replacing. Has one of the 2 motor push on electrical connections dislodged?
Is the outlet pipe obstructed?

My Kenmore Dishwasher will not drain.

Some of the energy star models have a p poor motor with plastic pumps parts. The pump reverses direction to pump out the drain water but get in a bind and the motor shuts down. These units should be recalled.

Motor burned up & now it shuts off with new motor

There may be a clog in the drain pump that is stopping the motor.
Remove the drain pump from the motor and run the machine in the agition mode.

Did you replace the run capactitor also?

GE Nautilus 4800 Dishwasher/Shuts off/ No water draining out

It may be the motor start capacitor or the motor or the wiring to it. Some units have a built-in switch that shuts the unit off if the motor doesn't start turning after a short interval. However, if it drains it usually means the motor runs enough to pump it out. These units usually stop draining when the fill switch opens at the lower level.

Drain pump starts and stops prior to final spin cycle

Jayron, is the motor jogging? start to spin, stop, start to spin stop. If so, your motor is jogging between the high and low start windings. The motor during spin should start on the high speed windings and stay there until most of the water is drained. GE came out with a new motor, harness and run cap because of this. If you have a meter, there should be a white and white/red wire going to the motor. If you have a steady 120V and it's doing this jogging, replace the motor with the kit...Let me know if this the issue, Catriver..post back.
