Once before after charging, the player wouldn't turn on. After I plugged in the USB it started again. It played and re-charged about 3 times since. Today, it again wouldn't start after re-charging and will not after trying various things. Liked the product for ease of use in playing audio books, but this is very disappointing. I've had it for about 6 weeks.

The charge adapter maybe faulty.
If your cell phone is a few months old, then it would be still under warranty. Take it back to the place where you purchased it and have it repaired or replaced under warranty.

Leave it on charge for at least four hours.
See if it works.
If it has charged from that port on your computer before the port should be ok.
You could try a different port if you have one.
If no luck, try a different charging cable or charger if you have one.

Charging is discussed on page 7 of the manual.

If it is only a month old, it may be under warranty.
Ask where you got it from, or contact Sandisk.

Sansa clip sandisk 2gb won't charge. Thought it was low and after plugging it in to computer overnight it wasn't fully charged but worked the next morning but suddenly died. Now it won't charge. Sansa...

I had the same problem this morning, albeit with my 8G Clip. Nothing worked -- the thing seemed dead as roadkill -- until I found a link about "forcing MSC mode." Basically, it told me to hold down the center button while plugging my Clip into my computer using my USB cable. Suddenly, boom! It's awake and alive and happy again. I'm unsure how that works, but that did it for me.

Sansa MP3 player charges, plays while plugged into wall, but not unplugged.

When you plug it into the wall make sure you turn it off and let it charge all the way before you start using it again. see if that helps
