THE LOAD MEDIA LIGHT IS STEADY GREEN,BUT WHEN I WANT TO LOAD THE PAPER ROLL BY HITTING THE LARGE LOWER BLUE BUTTON NOTHING HAPPENS.I WILL THEN RESTART THE PLOTTER AND AFTER RUNNING THROUGH ITS CHECKS THE STEADY GREEN READY LIGHT WILL REAPPEAR AS WELL AS THE STEADY ORANGE LIGHTS OF THE CARTRIDGES AND DATA.I THEN HIT THE CANCEL BUTTON AND THEN A FLASHING ORANGE MEDIA LIGHT APPEARS WHILE ALL THE PREVIOUS STEADY LIGHTS DISAPPEAR.ON CANCELLING THE FLASHING MEDIA ORANGE LIGHT A FLASHING READY LIGHT APPEARS WHICH STILL DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO LOAD THE PAPER ROLL.I WILL THEN RESTART THE PLOTTER AND THE STEADY ORANGE LIGHTS OF THE CARTRIDGES AND DATA WILL APPEAR. ON CANCELLING THE CARTRIDGES AND DATA LIGHTS A FLASHING ORANGE MEDIA LIGHT APPEARS.ON CANCELLING THE FLASHING MEDIA LIGHT THE LOAD MEDIA LIGHT APPEARS.AFTER LOADING THE PAPER ROLL,THE ALIGN MEDIA LIGHT COMES ON.I WILL THEN ALIGN THE PAPER BUT THE PLOTTER WILL KICK OUT THE PAPER AND THE LOAD MEDIA LIGHT WILL COME ON.THE PLOTTER WILL NOT LOAD THE PAPER UNLESS I RESTART THE PLOTTER AND GO THROUGH THE WHOLE PROCESS ONLY TO HAVE THE ROLL PAPER KICKED OUT IN THE END.

Either the carriage board, line sensor, encoder strip, or electronics module are defective. The media sensor would not cause this behavior.

I don't know if you are running in sheet or roll media, but we have this problem with roll media if it is not aligned properly. Usually if I release the media lever and pull 10-12" of paper through and align it with itself and with the dotted line to the right of the plotter, then it will accept it. Sometimes takes several tries. Sheet problems may be caused by dirty sensors. Good luck.

Have a DesignJet 450C and the ready light blinks continuously. Nothing will print.

Your blue media lever is in the down posotion. Check it and make sure it is at 12 oclock, easy.

HP Design Jet 450 C won't print

***it could be a communication issue: port setting, cable, ecc.

It could be a driver problem too. You need a compatible version with your Windoes version.

HP designjet 430, the data and media light come on at power up

The sad part unfortunatly is that the sensor on the carrage is below minimum specification. The only solution is to change the carrage as a unit P/N C4713-60039 and its going to be expensive. Normally the carrage belt would be replaced at the same time.

Make sure your paper is aligned with the left edge of the rectanglular holes on the right side of the printer paper feed slot

those slots are monitored to check for proper paper alignement and if it is not --it spits out the paper

In my 8 years of servicing plotters I haven't seen published specs as far as the paper thickness goes. But from experience and seeing my customers produce problems free plots, you don't want to plot on anything past 30 lb media. 99% of plots are done in the 18-24lbs range. Media Types: Paper (plain, vellum, coated, glossy) Film (vellum, coated, glossy, clear, matte), Translucent Bond for Black output only
Hope this helps
