The only option is to do a restore.

open the "Help and support center" from the Start button. click on the Index icon at the toolbar and search for: "of recent changes, avoiding during backups" and follow the instructions.

select a restore point from as far as you have from date point of view

There no such thing as a general reset. More than sure you are refering to Operating System than BIOS. One solution is to reinstall the Operating System and your laptop will be clean as new.... (software matter)

How to reboot my acer v3 series?

Reboot or Recover? If you have a Factory Recovery Partition, use this procedure, a Recovery will return your Laptop to the day it came out of the box, YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA, and you must install ALL Windows, Acer updates and software you installed, a Restore will return to a date selected, if your Laptop has Restore enabled in software. Problem toshiba reminder.exe

Click Start, then Run (If it's not there, Hold the Windows Logo Key on the Keyboard and tap the letter "R") and type: MSCONFIG <Hit Enter on the Keyboard>

Click the Startup Tab and find the Toshiba Reminder.exe and Uncheck the box. Click OK and then Close. Reboot the PC. Once you reboot a new window pops up, just check the box at the bottom left and click close (you won't see it again). That's it.

Cheers!

Just purchased, system too slow to make call on skype

A new laptop is already going almost as fast as is possible when it is new. RETURN IT FOR A REFUND, AND BUY A DIFFERENT ONE!!!
You can try this, but I doubt that it will help if it is an out of the box new machine.
First, download AVG antivirus at file:///C:/Users/Owner/Desktop/AVG%20Free%20-%20Antivirus%20Download%20Best%20Virus%20Protection.URL
then reboot yor machine whil holding the F8 key as it boots back up. A menu will apear. Choose -->"start windows in safe mode with networking".
The os will start in safe mode. run an AVG virus scan, then run Defrag by exploring your computer, right click on C: drive, click PROPERTIES, then the TOOLS tab, click the "check now" button, and only checkmark the top box 'fix file system errors', then click ok, the computer will then tell you it will scan upon next reboot., Now click the DEFRAG NOW button. the choose defrag. After Defrag runs for about an hour and it is finished, restart the system. If is still won't run normally, go back into Safemode buy pressing F8 on reboot, then run a registry fixing program such as uniblue registrybooster, then reboot again. If it still won't run right, you may want to reinstall Windows and see if that works. If reinstalling windows doesn't fix it, it is definitely a hardware problem. You could upgrade the amount of RAM, If you have the minimum, more RAM may help quite a bit.
Good luck.
PLEASE RATE THIS ADVICE WITH SOME THUMBS UP!!!

The sound has stopped working on my toshiba satellite harmon kardon laptop

Hi,

If its detected in device manager then you have a chance to get it running, just right click on your sound card and uninstall, if prompted "Delete installed device drivers" put tick in the box and proceed.

Now reboot...new drivers will be re-installed when you login to vista.

Thanks

I need to preform a system reboot/ restore for aSONY VAIOPCGGR250

Hi,

Holding zero is the method for restoring Toshiba computers. Sony Vaio should use F10. From there you can do a full system restore to factory defaults.

Hope that helps :)

New HP laptop will not connect to wireless secure network

Problem solved. I disabled the security on my network. I connected the new laptop to the unsecure network. I saved the settings on the laptop for the unsecure network. I rebooted the laptop. I re-enabled security on the router. I tried to connect to the network. I got an error on the laptop saying the network saved settings did not match. I modified the settings to a secure network on the laptop and saved the 128 bit key. Rebooted everything. All works fine now.
