The easiest way I've found is to disconnect the hose at both ends, and GENTLY push a broom handle through it while removing the stuff from the other end. Unhooking it allows you to lay the hose straight. Adjust your head height to where you just hear it hitting the carpet, then raise it one notch. The brush is designed to (and this is a secret the salesmen won't tell you) just touch the top of the carpeting to get it moving so the dirt becomes loose, the suction does the rest. Too low and it just forces the carpet to lay over and traps most of the dirt.

Vacum has suction, but won't pull debris from the floor

The vacuum may not be set for use on carpet.

The vacume was plugged. Believe I unplugged it, but now it just blows air OUT, does not **** in. Everything is emptied and cleaned. Don't know what to do next. Just had new carpet installed today, and...

Even tho its empty and clean, if the hosing is blocked up then it will not **** up anything.
The hosing down below the attachment hose may still be blocked up and that will have to be cleared for it to suction again.

remove the attachment hose look down the hose at the back. you can also flip over the machine and look for the attachment hose to come to the brush roller. I assume it is blocked up there and not picking up properly.

Good luck.

While vacuuming, the unit will stop/shut down. A short time later the unit will operate again but not for much longer. All filters are clean/new.

Check your hose for a clog. It's likely there is a plug somehwere. Run it (not while vacuming the carpet) with all three filters removed. See if you get good suction. If not then look around for a plug of dirt and hair somewhere.

Bissell carpet cleaner does not have suction like it should

Try checking the lint filter. It is located in the top clear plastic section (the one with the dial to switch from floor to tool use) and is on the underside. It is a small (1 inch square) red plastic filter with a door on it. Flip open the door and it is probably clogged with hair, carpet fibre, etc.. Clean it out and you should have full suction once again.

We have the Eureka EZ Kleen upright. We have suction through the hoses but not the main vacuum. The brush turns fine but the vacume does not **** anything up.

THE HOSE BETWEEN THE DETACHABLE WAND AND THE BRUSH ROLLER AREA MUST BE CLOGGED WITH CARPET FIBERS. CLEAN IT OUT AND IT SHOULD WORK.

Clogged vacuum hose, new carpet, have been through two vacuums already.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. When vacuuming it is a good idea to give your vacuum a burst of air once in a while to clear the hose and push the dust and dirt into the bag, simply just lift up on the powerhead or vacuum hose and give it a burst of air every 5 or 10 minutes. Also, we you like to know the brand name and model # of the vacuum. Some of the ways are to use a round metal ball or marble to see where the clog is in the hose and then you can use such things as the end of a broom handle, or you can use a wire coat hanger and bend the end to make a little hook and then try to grab the clog and say fish it out – or if you have another canister or shop vac you can tune on both canisters and try to pull the clog apart and sometimes that works as well – just be careful so that you do not puncture the electric hose because they are expensive in the area of $100.00 or more in some cases. If you need further assistance please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

My bissle proheat carpet cleaner/vaccuum has become clogged with the cleaner solution. As a result the cleaner solution does not reach the carpet when in operation. I had this fixed before at a local...

Take apart the handle (a few screws) unclip the small clear hoses, use a pipe cleaner or small screwdriver to clear the hose from the crystalized cleaning solution that is blocking the hose. Put it back together and it will be like new. ALWAYS run plain water through your machine when you are done using it to rinse it out.

Clogged Bissell

Something must be in the hose causing a clog, take the hose off and if suction is good where the hose hooks up, then there is something caught inside the hose.

Sudden loss of suction.

Check the inlet down by the brush roll to see if it is clogged. Also check the belt to be sure it is ok. Is there suction at the hose? If not then it is still clogged.
