Have you removed the old drivers and reinstalled the new ones... i.e right click GeForce 6100, uninstall, then reload the drivers you got with the GF 8500
Using one of the drivers you have already downloaded for the geForce. (Remember where you extracted them to)
Right click on "My Computer", "Properties","Hardware", "Device Manager"
Click on the VGA adapter that is not
installed. Click the update driver button and tell
the wizard you will specify the location of the driver. Then next
click "don't search. I will choose the driver to install". Click
the "Display adapter" and "next". On the next screen click "have
disk". Go to the folder where you extracted the drivers to
and then you will see that you can click "Geforce 6100/6150 (whichever one you have)
