Question about NEC Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 230SB (Black) 22" CRT Monitor

Open Question

I have a mitsubishi diamond plus 230 monitor which runs from the DVi port in tandem with an LCD Lacie monitor from a G5 applemac. Both monitors have been fine for 2-3 years with this setup. Today, however, after some 20 minutes use the Mitsubishi screen suddenly just went blank, with the orange power light flashing. I checked the lead connections and restarted the monitor but still just a blank screen and flashing orange power light. any ideas please?

SOURCE: Monitor keeps switching off

The graphics card or onboard graphics driver may not be kicking in at boot up causing the monitor to shut down, check the graphics card connector for bent pins and both connector ends. If you are able, think back to when this started and use system restore to a date before is started. Also you may have inadvertantly updated your graphics driver with one of windows generic drivers, of which may be the cause. You can also try pressing F8 on boot up and selecting 'last known good configuration' and see if that cures it.

SOURCE: Monitor picture fades out.

I thought my problem was originally monitor related. However since I posted, the picture disappeared altogether, and my PC wouldn't even start to bootup. Fearing my mobo may have died I removed the hardware components, cleaned then re-assembled them. After all that, it turned out that my graphics card has a tendency to become slightly unseated. Once I was aware of this problem booting up resumed normally. It seems that the problem of the fading monitor picture seems to still occur, but soon after I use the machine after 'hibernation' state, and even then it doesn't always occur if I do use hibernation. I haven't used hibernation for a little while and so far the problem has not returned

SOURCE: Mitsubishi diamond 55 Rear Projection - Won't turn on?

The DM module is not booting up because some capacitors inside it have dried up. A common problem with that generation Mitsubishi. The repair can be done in the home and most shops charge around $250 to $300 for the repair.

You would have to purchase separate BVUMD3 devices in order to get multiple extended monitors. Since each BVUMD3 has one DVI port with a USB hub, the DVI port is the only port available that allows video. Using a VGA splitter will not work with our device since each DVI port is allowed to carry only one video signal through to the monitor. You could purchase separate BVU195 devices if you do not need to use the USB hub on the BVUMD3.

Mitsubishi diamond pro says "no signal"?

You have tried the monitor on more than one known good computer, yes?

I believe about 4" inside this monitor in the back the vga cable or connector connects to a board with an in-line connector. Can you see if this connector (internal to the monitor) in connected?

Good luck...

Computer won't recognize monitor driver

Its the usb, if u connect the monitor via the standard port, the vga port, it will work. If your monitor only have an dvi cable you can fix that by an adapter. That adapter should be an DVI to VGA.

Good luck to you

You have 3 ports on your graphics card(VGA - 15 pin D-Sub x 1, DVI x 1, and S-Video x 1)Now if you want to use DVI just connect the DVI port to your monitor thats all..
