You possibly could connect it to a monitor or tv to see if it shows up on there. But, yea sounds like you have an internal problem with the screen disconnected.
A trouble shoting setp you can try is attatching an external display and seeing if that works.
Also try the function F5 key combo. I think that is the ASUS mapping to switch display output.
on ooptions screen, click box that says only show settings the monitor can handle. Then try changing the horizonal and vertical settings on monitor to match it up with your settings.
On your windows main screen, right click, then properties, then settings, check all the settings
