Question about Kenmore Elite Stainless Steel 24" BuiltIn Dishwasher with TurboZone Rotating Spray Jets 13103

2 Answers

During the last cycle, my dishwasher stopped and now will not restart. There is a layer of water in the bottom. Looks dirty. I found a plastic top to a waterbottle that had fallen in the tub. Maybe that is what caused it to ATP but now it won't restart. Thank you!!

Thanks Joe. We tried it and it did not work. The light is coming on in the dishwasher screen (looks like --). I can turn it off so it will be blank, but otherwise it is --. We tried to turn off the power 2x - both times with "--"in the window. Should I have tried it with the power off to the unit as well (so that nothing was in the window?)

Hi just wanted to check and see if you got my earlier post?

  • howingtonsmi Nov 02, 2010

My dishwasher stopped in mid-cycle during the last wash and now will not start. There is water in the bottom. I tried to reset it by turning the power off in the electrical box and it did not work.

When I push a button -- appears in teh window and that is all that happens. Wehn I hit cancel, it goes away.

It is not possible for me to read the solutions the other consultants would hvave provided. But I assume you have tried to reset by turning the power off and on.

Please provide the full model no. of the Kenmore dishwasher.

It is possible parts of the plastic are lodged in the chopper assembly connected to the wash pump. Will need model no. to work further on this.

Hello. Turn off the power to your machine at your home's electrical panel. leave it off for 5 minutes and then turn it back on. This will reset the machine. Then go to the machine and push the drain button to get rid of that dirty water. If it drains out, you are back in business, if not, we will have to look further. Get back please. ty. Joe

4 thumbs up please. ty.

Water in bottom of kenmore elite ultra wash dishwasher

you must check the filters that are at the bottom under the spray arm
then you must start and then hold down cancel or stop and it should kick in the automatic water discharge mode and activate the water pump if this does not work you need new dishwasher pump installed which can be found online by googleing your model number. gut if this all works then the small flapper thats internal on the pump isnt sealing and allowing water to flow back into the bottom. last but not least you might need a new control board.

My dishwasher electrolux esl6115 is leaking from the bottom of the door during the cycle.

My dishwasher electrolux built in unit was leaking, turned out to be the plastic nut inside on right hand side where water feeds the top rotar was loose. I actually took side off and found it running down inside and flooding out the feet and sides. Solution in my case was to wrap PTFE around the threaded section and rescrew nuton tightly..Problem solved. Simples.

Inside of dishwasher was dirty after cycle, baskets had black in between the screen...took out all bottom and found dirty water, a couple of inches and slime in bottom...cleaned it all out and put it back...

Check the food grinder (small blade spins against a screen) in the bottom of the dish washer drain. I found the grinder to be inoperative and clogged which reduced / stopped flow of the wash water. Also, small pieces of clear plastic food wrap can block flow.

Dishwasher stops during cycle and full of dirty water

you are having a problem with your door latch.the unit may not be staying closed or the latch strike is not in position to engage the door switches.
check the metal bracket just where the door closes and try to bend it downward , closer to the door and see if this helps to keep it working.

Kenmore Quiet3 not cleaning top rack, now stopped cleaning all

The problem is likely that the cutter/chopper filter is plugged. This reduces or eliminates water flow to the cleaning arms.
Solution:
Remove dish baskets
Remove bottom arm - Rotate the centre post until arm is free to be lifted out.
Remove conduit to top arm(s) - Remove 2 screws, one at top and one at back. Rotate whole conduit 45 deg right and lift off of centre post.
Remove bottom plastic assembly. - Remove 4 screws and lift off.
Remove cutter cap. - Remove 1 screw at front left. Lift off plastic cap. Remove cutter filter. It is on a spring loaded pin. Pull cutter blade foreword and lift filter disc straight up. Clean filter disc thoroughly
Reassemble!

I have a long lasting grinding noise on heavy cycle

this is a cutting blade that helps cut up bigger debri that should have been washed off the dishes, you should not be able to see it if you are not taking the cover off,, where is the cover?? you might want to lacate this,, this might be your whole problem, it could be stuck under the dryer element, or lodged in undr the blade that throws the water around,, locate this and you might have found the problem

Cycle will not run completely

It is a problem with the water heating cycle, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature.
A thermic sensor will allow the machine to restart the cycle after the water reaches the required temperature.
In your machine the thermostat is defective and the machine waits too long, that is also the reason for the too high temperature melting plastic.
