Question about Sony DSC-T7 Digital Camera

How to open casing

I have read many solutions to my problem and they all involve opening the casing but I did not find instructions on this. I don't want to remove unnecessary screws or worse break something off.

I have a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W310 I trun it on it reads Turn the power off and on again WhenI do this it still reads the same thing

It seems you're having problems with the lens sticking (either not retracting or retracting then coming out then going back again, etc.) This "off, then on" problem is caused by some little cogs around the lens that easily slip out of place in this camera. The camera has trouble sensing if the lens is in or out, which is why it keeps asking you to turn it off then on again.

One solution is to give the camera a firm tap around the lens area. I don't necessarily recommend that since those cogs in there are obviously delicate. Other than that, repair is going to require opening up the camera and setting those little things back into place. I know that isn't the answer you wanted to hear, but it seems to be the only one. Please don't forget to rate me if satisfied.Thank you.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( ).

Always white picture on daylight ... why?

the lens motor for the iris isn't working so the iris is allowing too much light into your lens and the pics are too bright .... solution will involve manually turning the motor or replacing the lens altogether ,involves opening the camera .... sometimes replacing the camera may be more economical though .....

How to open the case

Remove 6 screws around the unit, remove the cover on the strap side, open the battery lid, lift the back cover from the bottom and take it off, same as the front cover. You may have a little difficulty with the claw near by the viewfinder, but it would be fine. It is not very hard to open this unit.
When you close it, be careful the mode switch, don’t forget to put it in the right position.

Device not ready message

I had the same problem trying to transfer pics from my camera. The error message is "The Device is not Ready." I got mad when I read the "solution" from the "plumber" that said to read the directions. DUH!. Now for the real solution... and reading the directions won't help. Your PC is trying to find the camera connected to a specific drive. In my case it was the "E" drive which was already in use, mapped to a shared drive. Once I disconnected that drive it fixed my problem. To disconnect, highlight the drive, go to Tools and Disconnect Network Drive. Reboot the PC and plug the camera in before booting back up. (If you have hardware connected to the drive, right mouse click on the drive and eject.)

Canon PowerShot SD200 E18 Error

The "E18" error code indicates an error that involves the lens unit or lens cover. The grinding noise you hear-to my regret- means that len's mechanism is malfunction. This type of problem could be fixed by professional only.
