Question about Casio Wave Ceptor WV57HA-1AV Wrist Watch
I cannot get RC timekeeping to work, it is set to on. I see it trying, I get full #3 signal strength, but always get error message. I know when & where to do this as I also have an older model which still works & gets auto time set just fine.....I just bought the watch & the last time it was auto set was May 26. and nothing since......
I have the same watch and thought I had the same problem. Casio's website actually DOES have the downloadable manual for this watch in their Support section, though it's kind of burried in their "Watch Manual Archives" section. Try to copy this address into your browser: http://world.casio.com/wat/download/en/manual/ FYI, the manual number you'll need to search for is shown in a rectangle on the back of the watch. In my case it was # 3054. When I downloaded the manual and read it, I learned how to confirm auto-updating is activated, and how to do manual updating. In my case, I was trying it from too far inside my house with a weak signal. When I set all of the settings as described and placed the watch in the window with 12:00 pointing outside as shown in their diagrams, the manual update feature worked like a champ. I also learned about a couple of other neat features hidden in the watch. Too bad the manual didn't come with the watch when I bought it; it would have saved me lots of frustration. Hope this helps you!

Mine is the WV-59A/3054, for which Casio's support site lacks the specific owner's manual. I downloaded the module 3140 manual (the buttons are in a different position and the signal strenght display differs, but it works the same way) to get started.
WWV, which is the radio signal that is used when your home time zone is in the Western hemisphere, provides the digital clock signal that is used to reset the watch. That signal isn't continuous, so it's best to set the watch manually first (to match the home time zone), so it will do its nightly synchronizations at times when WWV is transmitting that signal. Mine usually synchronizes at 00:04 each morning.
I have no answer to the 15 second error. The propagation delay from the WWV transmitter at Fort Collins, CO to anywhere on the globe would be far less than that.
