RIM 8310 Curve to desktop bluetooth "connection" problem

I've been trying for over a week to connect my 8310 Curve to my computer without luck. It pairs with all my other devices and no problems- Motorola earpieces pair, connect and work fine, just having problems with computer connection. The BB8310 and computer pair with no problem, they just won't get to a point where the software says"connected". I've tried different dongles, different drivers, every setting combination I could find - Still, they're just "paired" but no "connection"within the Media Manager. Yes, Bluetooth is in discover mode, unique passcodes, etc all seem to work. BB and computer have repeatedly been paired and unpaired and paired again, dongles changed, drivers changed, still nothing seems to work. Both devices say they are paired and BB Desktop Manager and Roxio Media Manager still say not connected. What am I missing?

My connection issues are pretty much identical to Bobt's. My old 8700 connects just fine.

Computer blue program recognizes blackberry curve. Blackberry curve says it is paired with computer. Computer OS (Vista ultimate) looks for a driver and cannot find one on the blueberry CD, the web, etc.

I was able to connect in safemode and complete the restore of my data that was backed up from my old BB and everything worked just fine. Safemode is the only solution I found that worked. No one at Rogers (provider) was able to help, so much for support.

I did not try yet, check it if you can an post the results of your tests.

How do i reset my blackberry curve without having to connect it to the computer

Options > Security options / General settings / Menu / wipe handheld / "Blackberry"(without quotes)
Then the phone will shut off and the hourglass will come on as the phones resetting...

That's the simplest way to do it.

My Blackberry 8310 finds the Parrot 3000 (bluetooth) device, but does not ask for the password, and therefor, cannot connect. How do I get these two to mate? (kidding--I mean pair)

The generic PIN (Which is what I'm guessing you need) for most bluetooth devices is either 0000, or 1234. Please try those and see if that solves your problem.

Blackberry 8310 will not sink with computer. plug in to USB port and get Device Not Recognized. BlackBerry said it must be bad USP connector on the phone it's self. Trouble started after setting up...

Try a different usb port even another computer to see if its your phone or the computer. if you have no luck you can try the jl commander option to wipe your phone and then try to reconnect it but this will lose any un backed up data. Also look in the usb port and see if any of the prongs look bent pushed out of place or missing. if this is the case the phones only chance to connect is via bluetooth

If desktop manager will not recognize your phone then download JL commander (google search it) and select the wipe option then try again.

Blackberry 8310 charges,but doesn't connect with pc.

it is not a hardware or a software issue it could be a problem with the UBS port on the handheld or on the laptop or it could be a problem with the USB cable.

Cant Connect to the Internet!

contact your cellular provider (att, sprint, verizon). they may have disabled your data plan. otherwise, reload your device software using the desktop software that is available from blackberry.com as your device could just be simply missing a service book entry (these can corrupt themselves over time).

Desktop manager not recognising connection

Try uninstalling Desktop software.  Now reboot.  Install it again.  Reboot.  Now plug your phone in only after you have done this.  If that doesn't work, let me know and I will see what else I can do.
