Question about LG WM1814CW Front Load Washer
I noticed that a lot of other people had this same problem and just unplugged it for 10 min. and then plugged it back in, but the manual says that their is a filter on the back of the machine where you screw the hot/cold hose into the machine that needs to be cleaned every couple of months. I tried all the above solutions, and they worked for a couple months, then out of the blue again it would send the same error code, until I read about these filters. I did as the manual says to and cleaned them up, also ran 4 cups of vinegar into the drum and ran it for a full cycle to clean up any soap scum build-up. now the machine is working like brand new!! when taking the hose off the machine don't forget to turn the water source off. the filter is in the machine, not the hose so you have to really get back there and look to see them.
IE is a water inlet error. It could be that your water valves are plugged as you suspect. What you can do is put the unit into a test mode and check your valves to see that they are working once you have checked your hoses and connections.
Make sure unit is empty and never try this with anything inside.
press and hold Spin Speed and Soil Level then press on and release
press the start button to advance
1 time tumbles
2 low spin
3 high spin
4 prewash valve (once spinning has stopped valve will turn on)
5 main wash
6 hot water
7 bleach, should be a lesser flow as it has a restrictor
8 tumble counter clockwise
9 temp in tub
if your hoses are clean and the filters, and your water pressure is good, you may have a bad valve.
note, before it starts the door lock will engage.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
LE error in your LG front load washer is displayed when either the motor is not working or the control board thinks that the motor is locked up. A Hall Effect sensor is used in these washers which monitors the speed and direction of the motor and then forwards this information to the control board. Hope you understand by now that this LE error is displayed when there is an issue with the motor or when the Hall Effect sensor sends wrong signal to the control. Conclusion is you'll have to check both motor and hall sensor and replace the part# that is bad, usually I have seen the sensor going bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
