Question about Husqvarna 28cc Gas Line Trimmer

1 Answer

I have a Husqvarna 22r trimmer. It does not have the bump and feed type head. I have been told about twisting the trimmer whilst revving the engine and it should feed the line. Is this how its done?

I have never heard of such a thing. Can you just manually advance the line at the string-head itself while the engine is just idling? If the unit is not auto-feed, then this should be your only other alternative. Please post back.

Trimmer line runs out FAST

Check the spring tension, if the spring is weak, line can be fed out too quickly.

I have a L123 Husquravana brush cutter and I am looking for the lock nut that holds on the trimmer head. I am looking for the size to the lock bolt.

The trimmer head is not held on by a nut, the whole trimmer head is spun onto a 10mm male output shaft, to remove the trimmer head lock the geabox by inserting a 6mm pin through the top of the gearbox, there is a hole to take it, this will lock the drive disc, you can then turn the whole trimmer head clock wise ( left hand thread ) and remove the trimmer head. Parts are available for the trimmer head, it depends on which head you have, manual feed, or bump feed.

Need new bump head or full bump and feed unit

You can find some string heads and string head parts for your machine at Home Depot. They have a universal type head and heads made especially for Ryobis and Homelites (I think). Otherwise, several online vendors sell parts for your machine (but you have to pay shipping).

Husqvarna makes a trimmer that you don;t bump the head to feed the line, right?
