If you're not using the printer, un install the drivers and any other software for it. Go to filehippo.com and download CCleaner. CCleaner is a program that cleans out unnecessary **** that builds up and helps your "puter" to run more efficiently. It's a free download and you won't lose anything by using it.

yep right were I was going to head. The post will pick up failed memory, but not all bad memory is failed. You might toss those in another machine and run a memory test on the to see what it comes up with, even though we know they are bad.
Try plugging in headphones and see if you can hear anything, if not, it's a driver or motherboard problem. Update to the latest drivers. If that fails, buy a new sound card for around 20 bucks at local BestBuy or online. If this is a desktop, check the back of the PC for a second set of input slots. They are usually color coded and marked with symbols indicating what goes where (not to insult your intelligence in any way).
If you want the truth its not worth spending anything on it. Ive seen a lot better PC's than that could ever be with any upgrade sell on ebay for around $20 ....And for around the $50 price range pentium 4 2400 mhz with 512Mb memory. Cheers from Scott
Try unplugging the computer completely from the wall for 15 minutes. Plug it back in, and see if it will power on.
If it doesn't it's most likely a blown power supply, when the breaker tripped, everything on the circuit basically fed back into everything plugged in. This is something most computer power supplies do NOT like.
The good news is, a power supply is generally pretty cheap, you can get new power supplies atarting around 20 bucks, although decent quality ones are closer to 50 bucks. Bad news is, there is about a 1 in 20 chance the power supply took other parts with it.
Once you do get it running, or get another computer, make sure to get a surge protector strip and plug everything connected to the computer into the surge protector. A 15 dollar surge protector can save you 150 dollars in parts and labor. (or more)
Ok, try connecting just one thing at a time - start of with just your board and the power supply... still smell burning? There's probably an issue with the power supply - no fans & leds would indicate this too (can you hear anything when you power up?)
What cooling have you been using - weird quetion, but is there any chance there could be moisture on the board? (either from water cooling or from condensation in the room)
