The blue screen indicates that there is no video signal received. This can be either dirty heads or bad video heads. In most cases cleaning the heads will resolve the problem. Try inserting a blank tape and playing it all the way through. Then while in play mode, hit the rewind as if doing a reverse search. After that, try the original tape again. The blank tape will act like a head cleaner. If that fails to resolve the problem, the heads may need cleaning by a pro that will use a solvent.

Does it playback if you plug the Camcorder into an electrical outlet?

That should be taken in to have someone look at it.

It isn't a dirty head issue. You have have playback to fix it anyways.

It has something to with motor engaging properly

The heads are dirty and you are getting sufficient digital dropout to cause the blue screen. Try a cleaning tape. If that fails to correct hte problem, then the alignment needs to be checked by an authorized service center.

Camera plays in fast forward-like speed

Though I don't know the details of your camera and the tape you are playing, one explanation could be that the tape was recorded in "extended play" EP rather than "standard play" SP. Some VCRs and some cameras are incapable of playing back in EP, a mode where the tape moves at half speed so you can record more on the same tape. The result is that the tape playing back at regular speed appears twice as fast and fast forward will be even faster.

Unfortunately, unless your machine can be manually set to play back in EP (usually it is automatic) the solution is to play it back in a machine that can handle EP.

Cannot play tape.

Sometimes that happens to me too. What I do is just push play, then fast forward, and normally if you watch it, the picture starts to come back. Just keep fast forwarding until you can see all of the picture, and you should be fine.

Blue means that there is no signal. It can be that the head is dirty. Use a cleaning casette, (do not use cotton swab and alcohol)
