How can i fix the error massege Invalid Boot Volume on a new installed second hard drive

The message is clear, it is not a valid boot source. You may simply have to activate the partition. Use Google and search for: "activate boot partition" you will get a lot of information. This error is not just a windows 7 error.

That means the software you install is pirated. To be able to remove this notification,

Follow this steps :

* download this application : GENUINE XP

* locate the destination folder were the application is downloaded and extract the file to your desktop.

* open genuine XP folder > removeWGA and click the file.(in a split second, your XP is now genuine.

My computer was formatted by a technician who used a pirated copy of windows XP2. I have been sent message by microsoft that the XP2 is not genuine. how can install my genuine XP2 without losing my files?

If the version of XP you have is the same as the one that is now installed, you can do a repair installation. This essentially reinstalls Windows without deleting your user files. During the installation you'll be prompted to enter the product key, so you can use the one from your genuine copy. It's still a good idea to back up your data first, though.

Boot from your Windows XP CD and start the installation. One of the options that will be available is to repair a current installation. Select that to begin the process.

Another option is to purchase a new hard drive. They aren't expensive. Install that as the primary drive in your computer and make the current one a slave, and do a fresh installation of XP on the new drive. Then you can reinstall your applications, move your data over from the other drive (or leave it there), and you'll have the extra drive for added storage space. If the XP version the tech installed is not the same as the genuine copy you have, you will need to do a fresh installation in any case, as the product key from your copy would most likely not be valid for the one he put on.

I would suggest not going back to that same technician in the future. Guys like that give us ethical technicians a black eye.

Need file asms to complete installation

The problem is some files in your installation cd cannot be read anymore.

Options:

1. When the error appears try to redirect the wizzard to the directory of your CD ROM and locate the file.

2. If you have back up copy of your xp cd use it to replace the xp cd you are installing when the error appears.

3. If you have a copy of your xp installer on your hard disk re direct the wizzard to that directory.

Insert your installation CD into the drive. Reboot and select the repair option. This should reinstall any missing files without losing any data on your hard drive. Hope this helps & please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.
