I have a acer laptop with windows xp. i try to connect my simlpedrive 96300-40001-001 and its telling me that it has malfunctioned. how can i fix this???

Make sure the firewall software on the acer allows the wireless connections, try turning the firewall off for a moment and also disable the wired connection.

Make sure the network is safe or allowed most likely firewall blocking.

if ur wlan card is intel 3945 abg see sticker on the bottom of notebook if it reads this code then go directly to intel here for the latest drivers

You Need To Boot From The XP CDrom...
Press Power Button To Boot, Hold Down F-12, Choose To Boot From CDROM, Go Through The Windows Setup Process, Remove Vista (delete it), then Format and Install XP...

Your 7520 can use the drivers from another acer model, for instance, try aspire 3000, or 5000 drivers.. or try another model...
If it's not the correct one, it will not install and throw up an error telling you it is incompatable and not going to install....

1. check that the ipo address is set to automatic - not assigned
2. try pinging the router - you may be connected but the dns server may be an issue

to install XP:

1). you must have Windows XP setup disk.
2). If your HDD is SATA interface then error message will be raise...No Hard Disk Found. To fix this problem goto BIOS setup and Make SATA disabled. then try to install.
