The F1 error code means one of two thing;either the touchpad is bad or a relay on the conrtol has shorted out. Well the loud pop and the F1,their is not doubt that a relay on the control has indeed shorted out. The fix for that is to replace teh control PLEASE NOTE A SHORTED RELAY WILL MAKE THE HEAT ELEMENT TO STAY ON AT ALL TIMES AND THE BREAKER MUST BE LEFT TURNED OFF AT ALL TIMES UNTIL THE CONTROL HAS BEEN REPLACED OR IF LEFT ON THEIR WILL BE A VERY VERY GOOD CHANCE OF THE OVEN/HOUSE CATCHING FIRE
Hi, This Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called
clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code
cannot be canceled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC),
touch pad, or both.
Without being able to look up the error codes for your model (number please!), I would guess that the oven control triac has shorted out or the relay is stuck on (I assume the oven runs at maximum temperature). In any case, the oven microcontroller knows something is wrong, so it says F1 and beeps for help.
Error code F1 is for a defective touch pad or membrane (usually the touch pad). In this case you will need replace touch pad or membrane. It seems that water entered the touch pad during the self cleaning process, remove the touch pad and try to dry it.
Good luck !!
