I get alternate messages that indicate the battery is connected and then disconnected. The light blinks and the softwared beeps unless it is disabled. I replaced the battery today and it repeats the same problem.

    1. This is a silly question but I have to ask... Did you connect both poles of the battery?

    2. How old is your UPS?

Apc beeping twice every 2 seconds

The battery inside the APC is "weak", and the "beep" is telling you to replace the battery inside the APC, or, maybe cheaper, to buy a new APC.

Why does my APC Conext UPS beep after power is restored?

After about 2 to 3 years the batteries usually have to be replaced. I found with our UPS's we get about 3 years maximum from the batteries. Ordering the originals from APC is rather expensive.

Locate a professional battery distributor in your area. Get the part numbers written on the batteries in your UPS, and including the detailed descriptions. You can then order these from the distributor. APC uses industry standard batteries. We found the Panasonic and Portilac brands to be excellent.

APC manufactures the UPS's. They use various battery manufactures depending on bid costing.

Even when it was brand new, my computer loses power even if it is not black out and my Back-UPS RS 500 blinking and cotinously beeping, and always my computer did not properly shut down. please help me to...

You need to replace the battery. Go to APC site and order the battery for your model. http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=br500i go to about the middle of the page, there are two models for replacement batteries. If you're not sure which one, call APCs customer support. 800-555-2725 I don't know what the shelf life is for your model but the battery usually last 3 yrs or so. Your battery is probably dead now.

Rs 900 back up is beeping with the on battery, overload, and replace battery lights blinking

just check that you are not overloading the ups or make sure that the ups output is not connected to the input of the ups in most of such cases almost all light indicators start blinking

My APC RS 900 UPS is making a beeping noise and the red light on the front is blinking. It seems to be working, but what is it trying to tell me?

Without knowing which light is flashing I can only guess. From my experience and assuming it is the battery light that is lit and NOT the overload light, it can be one of two things, one is your battery is near the end of its life and needs to be replaced, and the other is that your battery is improperly connected.

To confirm if your battery needs to be replaced or not, you can run a self test. Ensure that the battery has had time to fully charge (and that it is definitely correctly connected), and then turn off the UPS, and turn it back on. It will automatically run a self test.

if the light stays lit, you need to order new batteries. One source is here: http://www.refurbups.com/APC-Back-UPS-RS-900-BR900-Replacement-Batteries

If it IS the overload light that is lit, you simply have too much equipment attached to the UPS, more than the inverter can handle. Try removing some equipment until it turns off.

APC UPS Series: LS; P/N: BP700UC; Age: 28 months; PowerChute Personal edition ver: 1.3.1 Batteries never replaced. Several weeks ago the 'Replace Battery' light began flashing while the computer was either off or in standby mode. On power up the software indicated that the battery was disconnected. After shutting down the computer; unplugging all loads and the source power from the UPS. The battery was visually inspected to confirm that the leads were connected. On reconnection everything appeared to be in order; no red lights, no alerts. Today after the computer system had been in standby mode for approximately 12 hours, I found the 'Replace Battery' light blinking. When the computer was powered up, the UPS began to chirp and an alert popped up advising that the battery was disconnected. The computer was shut down; the power source to the UPS was disconnected for approximately 15 seconds and then reconnected. Turning on the UPS caused the 'Replace Battery' light to flash several times then extinguish. After turning on the computer the PowerChute software advises 100% battery capacity and an expected battery time of 29 minutes. Subsequent to both incidents a self test was initiated but not completed. The software indicated "Unable to carry out a self test at this time."
