I have a panasonic fore75v DVD/but. Not powering up no display, dead.

I gather that you have a meter, check the output side of the transformer. Check the diodes for open circuit. You cannot always rely on the appearance of the caps. They can fail without any outward signs. You need an ESR meter to check them. ESR meters are not cheap unless you get an ESR meter kit and build it.

I replaced the (2) 470 micro farad caps and have the same problem. the monitor still fades after a few secs.what is the next possible problem

Are they 25vdc caps, I just need to know if they are for the 16~18v dc power supply for backlights inverter circuits, or they are 10vdc for the 5vdc power supply.
You need to check the DC voltages for both logic board and the inverter circuits. I use lamps as the load to check the power supply (plug the monitor in but do not activate the power switch so the inverter circuits will not start up).
It can also be bad lamps problem, please look through my albums.
I always repalce the cap in a set, bad cap can look normal but can have high ESR.

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

Hey palaboy thanks for helping. 1. Could you be more specific with this: "there are ( might be ) to sets of 5V supply. one Direct from SMPS out one coming from the 12V supply " 2. I replaced the original...

Comon problem with this model are the 4 bad caps (100Uf) on the inverter board, they developem high ESR and you must replace them with FM/FC PANASONIC with low ESR type, the four bad one has 100uf value whaich checked out OK but the ESR was more than 3 Ohms, I replace them with one 470uf (they use the smaller but with four caps due to spacing requirement becuase this same inverter board is also used in the very low profile monitor they cannot use large body cap, but your monitor chassis has a lot of room for bigger body caps.

F1 is the surface mounted fuse. and it should be less than 1 Ohm.

Nov 21, 2008 - I have a proview 19" LCD TV PA-19DK5. In the last few days when I turn on the tv the picture appears and disappears after 1 sec. audio is fine, when I use my xbox 360 through the component...

Please post the pictures, that will help. Do find any fuse in the inverter circuits, if you do have 5v (for logic) and 12v (for backlights), then may be the power supply is OK but I am not sure that the inverter is using 12vdc since you have some caps rated at 35vdc, Iwould expect the inverter to be using 24vdc for backlights. See some of the pictures I posted here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

No power ,dead, fuse good, polaroid tdx 03211c,

Is it about 2 years old? If you checked the fuse I presume you removed the back cover. A lot of these sets have problems with filter caps on the power board---easy to tell---follow the power cord to the power supply board----you will see a number of round parts with plastic on them--most are marked on the side plus and minus--and will have markings like 470 @ 16v; a 470 mfd at 16 volts, look carefully at the silver top of all of them-----it should be perfectly flat with two or three creases in it---IF YOU FIND ONE OR SEVERAL WHERE THE TOP LOOKS BULGED UP----you found your trouble---all the damaged caps(these sets vary from having 2 or 3 to 7 or more) need to be replaced with caps of the same value but WITH A HIGHER WORKING VOLTAGE--REPLACE 16 volt cap with 25 volt cap etc. If you find this is your trouble the parts should be less then 20 dollars. The reason this happens so often is many of the companies us the least expensive caps they can get---saves them money but most of these sets I have seen with this problem fail before 3 years.

TV Sucks - Hisense TL2020

Your problem involves 4 electrolytics on the power supply board. There are (3) 1000 mfd @25 volts and (1)220 mfd @16 volts. The power supply board is situated in the middle of the set slightly off to the right. It is held in with 4 screws and has 2 small harnesses on it. The 3 1000 mfd in the set that I was repairing were all swollen at the top and when I ran them on an esr meter sure enough they were opened. The 220 actually tested ok but was a little swollen at the bottem so I changed it anyway. After replacing all caps, normal operation was restored. Thanks, Jack from Staten Island

Check c458; (100/16) c454; (220/35) c453; (470/35); c451 (2.2/50) all are electrolytic capacitors located near IC 451 (la7845) If you have an ESR meter it would help out greatly to identify the weak cap or caps.
