The name and address in "my gallery account" are wrong. not sure how i did this, but how do i correct it

I guess your email address is the correct one and actually YOU are wrong about your address. You forgot your user name and sadly, no way to recover an email if you have wrong your user-name.
Create a new account and this time take a good note about your data: username and pasword. Open a secondary email and follow security procedures to help you to recover your email in the future in case of any problem.

You don't give in a correct account name or correct password or both are wrong. Be aware not to switch caps when entering the password.
Ask Gmail to send you the correct mail address to the recover mail address you gave them while setting up the account. And then ask for reset of the password.

Some free mail providers like hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo will release an account after it has not been accessed for a long time. Every provider has it own rules and if you don't pay for the service they decide what they do. Perhaps your account is already in use by someone else. Try to login and click on the button I forgot my password and see if you get a mail on the address you pointed out to be the backup address. If nothing happens, toy are not longer the "owner" and only one thing you could try, to setup an new account with the old name. If you manage to setup an account again, it is empty for sure.

You have to set up a account with facebook before you can login. Google facebook in the drop down window do the following. Add First name, Last name, Email address or mobile phone number, add email address or mobile phone again, make and enter a password, ( make sure you don't forget it ) Enter birth day as month , day , year. click female or male. click sign up. To setup an email account on the iPad and iPhone, when setting up the account you have to fill in the correct account name (Complete) and the correct password. During setup, the iPxxx checks the name and password. If it tics all lines green, the account is accepted. If not, look where it went wrong.
Could be you tried to set up a POP account as a IMAP or viva versa. Or you did not enter the complete address or a wrong password.
If you already did setup the address(es) and you could receive mail before, check if your wifi router is still working, or look on the iPxxxx if WiFi is switched on.

You have a very strange system. By default, the only assigned attribute to the Users folder is R and the individual user folders have no default assigned attributes.
attrib -s -h changes the attributes to not be a system folder and not hidden, but this is immediately followed by attrib +s which makes the folder a system folder. But neither Users or the user's folder is suppose to be a system folder.

You may be using the wrong SMTP address for the Outgoing mail server address for your email service.

In regards to checking your mail settings in Mac OS X Mail you will need to perform these few steps:

*Launch Mail
• Click on Mail name and select Preferences from
the drop down menu.
• Now select the Account tab.
• Locate your affected email account from the side
bar and from Account Information, make sure
your Outgoing mail server address is correct.


I am using a .Mac account as an example,
but the same principal applies.

Now if you do find that the Outgoing mail server address for your email service is correct, then the issue may be with the SMTP server for your email service.

One way to determine SMTP functionality however, is to go online and use the web mail page for your email account and send out a test email.

I would also recommend you make sure your Macbook Pro also has the most current version update.

Apple usually has bug fixes in each of their version updates for the Mac OS X Mail application, as well as other built in Mac OS X applications.

If you are still unable to send outgoing mail, contact your service provider to get more assistance and have them check your SMTP server address, authentication and connection with their Outgoing Mail servers.
