Hi, Normally if your account gets blocked, you are still able to do the log in process, only that you will be asked to Type in and Match some Security characters before you can then sign in. And if it is that you have forgotten your password, you can use the 'Forgot Password' feature, which should work.

Worst case Scenario is if you have done all this process and used your Secret questions and answers and it still refused you access, then it is either you do not own the account really (double-check your username), or someone has Hijacked your account and changed all the security settings.

I am not sure who you are addressing: " Why would you do that?", but after reading your question and what has happened to you, My first thoughts are that the security of your email account has been compromised. Someone has gotten your password and taken it over . It is a form of identity theft, and you should immediately change all passwords of any other accounts that they might have access to.

Contact MSN regarding old account. If your contacts have been saved to your pc you can add them to new account.

if you are using an msn premium account, you can call msn tech support and have you password reset. otherwise if its a free account, the email is pretty much gone.

Msn hotmail "error cannot access at this time" (home page hotmail)


this sound more like a temporary issue that msn is having. But if this problem has be for more then 24 hours contact MSN let them know how long this has been going on they will most likely try and trouble shoot it then they will transfer you to tier 2 at that point they will disable the email account and re-enable it and reset your password. That is what I did for customers when I worked for MSN 9 out of 10 times it worked when I reset there account on my end.
